I see K-pow is labeled as Stealth blue. Curb weight is listed as 3995 lbs. for the GT. (2 tons of fun!!!) :) No pics of the wheels or radios yet. Check it out.
Namdam 09-22-2007, 04:23 PM I would assume "White Hot" is a white color. yay, I thought white was getting left out!
chiefpontiac 09-22-2007, 04:28 PM red and black are exact carryovers from the GTO. I have not figured out the others yet (if they have a match)
Speaking of red and black, onyx/red interior available on GT in both cloth and leather.
PMD G8 09-22-2007, 05:18 PM What happened to the 19 inch wheels?
Edit: NEvermind, I see they come with the sport package.
sccaGTO 09-22-2007, 06:08 PM What happened to the 19 inch wheels?
Edit: NEvermind, I see they come with the sport package.
That sucks. Sport package includes the boy-racer wing. :whine: I guess we could swap spoilers (if they use the same holes).
As for colors, go here for the Holden pictures (http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/colourtrim?modelid=4006:
--White hot-------------Heron White
--Magnetic Gray Metallic-Nickel Metallic (similar to the GTO Quicksilver Metallic)
--Stealth Blue Metallic---Impulse Metallic (same as GTO Impulse Blue Metallic-Which isn't "stealth", it's rather vivid & eye-catching)
--Liquid Red-------------Redhot (same as GTO Torrid Red)
--Panther Black Metallic--Phantom Metallic (same as GTO Phantom Black Meteallic)
--Ignition Orange Metallic-Ignition Metallic (brighter than GTO Brazen Orange Metallic)
I could be wrong about Magnetic Gray. GM could surprise us with something darker than Nickel Metallic. I am oddly attracted to Ignition Orange. :yumyum:

ME TOO, but I see the power has gone down to 355. I know, I know that is still a good amount of power.
joshls 09-22-2007, 07:43 PM Good news about the lcd screen being available with the upgraded stereo!!
Orbit Orange 09-22-2007, 09:43 PM --Stealth Blue Metallic---Impulse Metallic (same as GTO Impulse Blue Metallic-Which isn't "stealth", it's rather vivid & eye-catching)
I'm not so sure of that. Numbers for Impulse Blue on the GTO are 24U, with the touch-up paint number being WA-938J. Numbers for the Stealth Blue on the G8 are 25U, with the touch-up numbers being WA-449N. The K-Pow now Stealth Blue pics that I have seen show a blue with a more purplish tint to it even than that of Impulse Blue. So from an Impulse Blue GTO owner I'm thinking they are different. No harm no foul. Both are eye-cathcing as you say. :)
Habibus 09-23-2007, 07:18 AM Where have you seen pics for K-Pow/Steath Blue?

Lichtronamo 09-23-2007, 10:00 AM Looks like I'd be interested in the 2EC69 in 80U over 463 (the only color interior offered except in combination with red) with PCQ and CF5. Now, if we could just get some prices and an actual car to drive...

Mine would probably be the strangest combo available. I'd have to have Ignition Orange GT with black cloth interior. If that means no boy-racer wing, no 19" wheels, no leather shift knob, then fine. JHP will hook us up. :wink2:

No sport package for me - the 19" wheels are available only with summer tires. I don't want to have to buy 18" winter wheels/tires.

And you are correct, the red is exactly the same as the GTO - I was hoping for Solstice Aggressive, instead.

There are only 2 interior color combos offered.
Black
and Black/Red
No gray, sandstone, taupe etc etc etc.

Lichtronamo 09-23-2007, 03:52 PM I can't tell from the little pic (the one used in my avatar) if the car has the new logo.
Recluse 09-23-2007, 05:31 PM Thanks for posting this. Other than the mandatory LCD on the GT (and the absence of the 6MT in the document), it all looks great. Glad to see that it's possible to get a GT without a bunch of options.
Lichtronamo 09-23-2007, 05:39 PM T...the absence of the 6MT in the document...
The manual transmission seems to be getting to be more and more a part of the fine print. The Pontiac website still says it will be "late availability", but you've got to look to see it.
johnh 09-23-2007, 08:09 PM Big wing for me too..the other spoiler is wimpy looking.
I thought the Ignition metallic, was darker than brazen orange.
I wonder where it falls in between Fusion Orange and Sunset Orange.
Although I loved the IBM on the GTOs.
Disappointed in the lack of interior color options.
PMD G8 09-23-2007, 08:29 PM I want boy racer wing......
Yeah, I kinda like the spoiler that is on the SS-V. Follows the lines of the car much better than the SAP spoiler for the GTO. Also I think it will look better than the lip spoiler. And perhaps the car might look pretty good with a spoiler delete. :D
Mike P 09-23-2007, 09:09 PM I can't wait until the pictures are available on the 2008 Online Order / Reference Guide of like the wheels & other stuff....
Lichtronamo 09-23-2007, 09:32 PM You can look at a Holden brochure and see the radios/wheels. It looks like the "standard" 18" GT wheel is sold as an accessory part.
appletonrc 09-23-2007, 10:37 PM I thought there was supposed to be a nickel silver and some sort of gray, but lighter than the show car gray. I'm looking for a nickel silver, GT, 6 speed auto, lip spoiler, black interior. I'm in Wisconsin, so I'm thinking heated seats :)
That orange does look cool.

I just thought about that. GM must have switched silver for white. Oh well, I'm getting kinda bored with silver anyhow and would rather have white.

Big Guy 09-25-2007, 07:06 PM I have been watching this forum for a few days now .... can't believe the information you guys provide ... I do appreciate it!!! Have been a Pontiac guy since the days of my 1968 Grand Prix!!!! Refreshing that GM is finally going to give us a RWD sedan... I did enjoy the 99 GP I had with the supercharger, but the darn torque steer was disconcerting. Now, everything I have is RWD.. thanks again for the info .. didn't think Morpheus would be a color choice, but it sure IS!!

Isn't the G8 supposed to be here in like January of 2008? Not sure how much later the 6MT could be available, without going into 2009.....
PMD G8 09-25-2007, 10:01 PM thanks again for the info .. didn't think Morpheus would be a color choice, but it sure IS!!
Morpheus is not an option. The color of the car above is more than likely Stealth Blue, but it is certainly not Morpheus.
For comparison, Morpheus is on the left while K-Pow(Stealth Blue) is on the right

Because the GT does not come with a spare tire-compact or otherwise :cursin: roadside assistance tollfree number should be on the side windows.

Press your On-Star button. I saw in the order book that you can extend your On-Star subscription out 3 or 4 years as part of the purchase price. As mine would be a company car where I don't pay for the car but for the on-going expenses, that's a great idea.

It should. Just because they are not putting a spare tire in there doesn't mean they will change the body of the car. But, I know the first thing I'm gonna do when I get this car home. The GTO spare wheel & tire will fit. But, since the GTO's full-size wheel & tire will fit in the spare tire wheel well, I'll pick one of those up & a tire & there you go.

The VE pitch diameter is still 5 x 120mm but the stud size is different so the "GTO' wheel will not fit the VE Studs!
The "GTO" tyre and rim will probably "fit in" the spare tyre compartment though.

The Sport Package with the 19" wheels on the GT comes only with summer tires. The 18" all-season tire on the GT is probably a no cost option that cars delivered to northern states will have automatically. No summer tired GT is going to show up here in MN.

I would think if the bolt pattern is the same, then the GTO wheel should fit. I think the wheel lug opening would be large enough for the wheel stud. I would be more concerned about the offset being different.

appletonrc 09-28-2007, 09:19 PM How does your GTO do in the winter? People in MN want to know...
I had a 99 grand prix before the GTO. On it I had all season tires. The GTO with snow tires is much better than the Grand Prix with all season tires.
I had a 30 minute commute to work, and on a real bad snow storm, there were tons of SUV's in the ditch. I made it home with no problem. Ground clearance is more of an issue than traction. That day I had a drift over the back of the car, covering the spoiler. Once I dug a path to back out, I was fine. It all comes down to driving smart. Heck, most cars were RWD 30 years ago and life went on.
The electronic nannies keep things in check.
J Wikoff 09-28-2007, 11:16 PM Tough for the G8 wheels to look like the GTO wheels when the GTO wasn't offered with 19's.
Well, just cause they aren't the same size doesn't mean they can't look pretty similar. I did forget it was 17 or 18 and not 18 or 19 though. But with the rubber bands wrapped around the GTO 18s, they look bigger than they are.

Mike:aus_flag:
The hub on the G8/Commodore is smaller than the old GTO. So, no interference from the car. The holes are big enough for the studs to poke through. Plus, the holes are big enough round for a tire tool to remove & install some styles of lug nuts. The G8's large lug nut may not fit into the holes for the GTO wheel. But, one stop at the local parts store, & a set of 14mm x 1.5 pitch lug nuts with 19mm heads can be bought. The next problem is that you need to carry a 4-way lug wrench. No problem. Parts store again. If you want to get stinky about it, then no, they are not designed to fit. But, if GM plans to screw us into using OnStar for a simple flat tire, then I will find a way around that.
I think we're getting tires like these.

I don't think Michelin is close enough to introducing the "Tweel" for the G8. The ordering guide shows that they will give us an inflator pump & tire sealer (aka: Fix A Flat). Same setup that is in the Solstice & Sky & the C5 Z06. That won't do us any good if we damage the sidewall of the tire.

And the current Pontiac Grand Prix GXP, new BMW M3, etc., etc. This is starting to be a fairly common practice on performance oriented vehicles. I would prefer a spare myself, but the manufacturer's for whatever reason appear to be heading in a different direction.

No spare saves a lot of weight. The space taken up by one of these wheels is huge also whereas a mini-spare (or a smaller front tire than the rears used as a spare) can throw the stability control into chaos.

I was gonna say the same thing about weight savings. But, I'd prefer a car with no stabilty control. Isn't that why we have a steering wheel? :gr_jest:

Lichtronamo 10-06-2007, 12:25 PM So, seems like no navigation or HID's available?
Right. But you can extend you're On-Star subscription for up to three years. The Commodore has turn by turn navigation in the center info display (between the tach and speedo).
I've basically got my next car narrowed down to another Maxima or a G8. It will come to a choice between the V-8/manual in the G8 vs. the broader range or amenities in the Nissan.
So, seems like no navigation or HID's available? LCD is for info only.:cursin:
^^Onstar Turn by Turn and the HID would probably have been an option at maybe $7-800. You can add aftermarket Navi for far less than what they would have charged as an option. Im sure in the next model year they will have more options!
