Rob on the 4000 series, the two photos look different. The one with the cutaway looks like a traditional cross drilled and slotted and the other looks like cross drilled with small varying slots. Are they different or is the picture just a bit misleading?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-17-2011, 10:59 PM pics are generic pics, not actual pics,
i'll work on getting that added to the listings

Gotcha. So the big question is do I go with the slotted or cross drilled and slotted? I'm not necessarily a fan of the gold hats.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-17-2011, 11:30 PM I prefer the slotted.
I run the 4000's on my SRT8, and the 5000's on the GTO (with 4000's in back).
both slotted
Slotted are more durable,
ScooB 03-18-2011, 08:24 AM If there were Slotted/CrossDrilled without the gold hats....possbily black, or silver I would be all over this. The gold hats is the only thing making me lean towards the slotted.
Also what are the dimensions for each set?
pancho 03-18-2011, 09:23 AM DBA lists slotted as competition. Slotted and drilled are not listed as competition.

Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 09:35 AM what G8 do you have?
They offer the 5000 series with black hats
08G8V8 03-18-2011, 09:39 AM But, then you can't get black hatted rears, unless they are slotted only.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 09:40 AM correct
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 09:45 AM Thank you for the orders overnight everyone, they will all ship out today.
Virus 03-18-2011, 10:27 AM You can paint the rears with black paint. A local member has the 5000's in the front and 4000's in the rear. He simply painted them and they look fantastic.
ColdFuzion 03-18-2011, 10:44 AM What is the benefit of a 2 piece over a 1 piece, seems to be quite a large price difference between the two. I need new rotors, my fronts warped again.

Lighter weight. Possibly lower cost to replace just the rotor down the road when needed, but not positive on that.
If they only made a 2-piece for the rear, you could use a G8 hat and a Camaro rotor to allow you to use Brembo calipers on the rear.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 11:49 AM They are lighter weight, and because of the 2 piece design, the transfer less heat.
The replacement rotors are less then the complete rotor, but are more than the 4000 series.
ColdFuzion 03-18-2011, 12:00 PM I have a g8 gxp, I dont see rear rotors listed on your website, do people not typically replace the rears?
Morris 03-18-2011, 12:15 PM Rob do you carry any of the other brake pads like carbo tech that we could order with the rotors at the same time?
I'm actually torn between just upgrading my rotors, pads and fluid vs going with a brembo set up.
This is my DD but I would like to track it also both auto x and a big track. I know they don't have a pad designed for both but I don't want to have to change them out all the time and would lean more to the race side.
I got about 45k on the clock and the brakes are feeling spongy so I know I'll have to make a decision soon. I value your opinion so if you feel inclined voice it here or pm me it would be appreciated.
cereal_killer 03-18-2011, 12:25 PM I have a g8 gxp, I dont see rear rotors listed on your website, do people not typically replace the rears?
Doesn't the GXP have the same rear setup as the GT? seems when you go the to GXP section, it lists the rears for the GT and front for camaro since the brembos on the front of the gxp are the same as Camaro. the exception seems to be the 5000 series and i think thats because they don't seem to have the rear 5000 for the GT either.
BTW, ordered me a set for my GT. Pricing seemed to be right in the sweet spot to get me to order.

We use the Cobalt Friction pads, they are a bit better than the carbotech's, but not as well known.
LG Motorsports (Vette Racing) uses them,
Pedders Uses them on their cars for the track

The Camaro and GXP use the same front rotors,
The G8 GT and GXP use the same rear rotors,
i'll edit the description on the rears to include the GXP too.
pancho 03-18-2011, 01:43 PM Rob, I have 5000s on the front. How much are replacement rotors?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 01:58 PM slotted or drilled,
GT or GXP?
pancho 03-18-2011, 02:26 PM Slotted - Camaro Brembo front only
The Yeti 03-18-2011, 02:27 PM How much of a difference would the 4000 series slotted make in the G8 GTs breaking performance. Does a rotor upgrade effect fade or add stopping power? Is it a noticable improvement in performance after adding these for a daily driver?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 02:54 PM hard to say, everyone drives different.
I noticed a good improvement, but i'm harder on brakes than most.
If you don't drive the car hard you will likely not notice anything other than less warpage over time.
If our hard on them and you heat them up on a regular basis then you will notice an improvement.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 02:55 PM Slotted - Camaro Brembo front only
I will check tonight when i get back

Thank you for that response.
I drive like a Granny 98% of the time. I do get on the throttle sometimes but never have to get on the brakes that hard. I guess pads at this point would be more impactful.
Morris 03-18-2011, 04:47 PM ^You use those brake at the end of the 1/4 mile a good bit, and often. Plus you are going to want to go with me to the big track some day and you auto x, might as well do it right.
So, would these rotors and some new pads with high temp fluid work on the track. I'm guessing they would as others have used them with the carbo tech pads. If that's the case which pad would hold up best for a track day, the ceramic? If these are as good as carbo tech then I would be all over that. I hate the idea of having to special order parts in advance and wondering if they will available down the line.
Oh, it's been said that I drive like an ass hole. That came from a friend not sure if he was refering to just that day at the track or all the time? Either way I want some brakes that can take the heat!
Rob@WretchedMS 03-18-2011, 06:20 PM Thank you for that response.

Pads will make a bigger difference for you than Rotors will
For you the rotors will be more of a preventative thing with pulsation

We drive the same way, you need my rotors, lol
I run the DBA's along with Cobalt Friction pads, they are a bit of an upgrade from the Carbotech's, but both are very good.
JonRobbinSS 03-18-2011, 11:58 PM This is a great deal... Thanks for offering this for us. I am in.
Morris 03-19-2011, 03:09 AM Thanks for the info, looks like I'm gonna try and find a way in also. Should be good enough for a.few.track days with that and the braided lines with the motule running through them.
cereal_killer 03-19-2011, 05:19 AM The Camaro and GXP use the same front rotors,
The G8 GT and GXP use the same rear rotors,
i'll edit the description on the rears to include the GXP too.
i thought that was the case. yeah i think changing the names slightly would help with confusion.
also, i wanted to point out when i said the GT 5000 were not on the site, looks like they don't make them at all according to the DBA site. So anyone looking for the 5000 for their GXP, you would only do the fronts.
Morris 03-19-2011, 11:59 AM waiting for confirmation as I think I'll opt for the 5000's on my gt if it's possible to get them. Could be that the web pages are just not updated on either site?
How much noise/dust should I expect with the cobalt friction pads?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-19-2011, 12:53 PM a lot, they are a race pad, not a 'street' pad.
What is still in question, i think i'm lost a bit, lol
cereal_killer 03-19-2011, 01:24 PM ...they are here. how are they already here? usually i order things Friday and then get them wed/thurs the next week. This is what i call service.
Morris 03-19-2011, 02:04 PM a lot, they are a race pad, not a 'street' pad.
What is still in question, i think i'm lost a bit, lol
I think the remaining question was if the 5000 was an option for the gt or if we have to go with the 4000 rotors. Also I didn't see the cobalt pads litsted, would they be a special order?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-19-2011, 02:40 PM is not available for the GT, don't believe it's even made, either way it's not available.
NJSlateG8 03-19-2011, 03:12 PM Any idea on how long this sale might last? Looking to upgrade to the GXP brembo kit sometime in the future and have been lookin at the slotted DBAs for a while now.
Morris 03-19-2011, 07:05 PM is not available for the GT, don't believe it's even made, either way it's not available.
Your talking about the rotors not the pads right?
Rob@WretchedMS 03-19-2011, 10:23 PM yes, 5000's are not available for the GT
The prices will likely go up tomorrow night.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-20-2011, 10:18 AM Ok, Prices will likely go up tonight, been getting hate mail from some people about the prices that i'm offering.
I'm ok with hate mail, but i have a quota that i have to hit on the amount of hate mail per week, and i've nearly reached it. lol
Thanks again to all of those that have ordered, most orders will ship early this week.
Virus 03-20-2011, 10:24 AM Rob, in polite terms, "screw'em"! Maryland Speed deals with this on a daily basis. It's a dog eat dog world out there and you have to do what you do to survive. Lower prices moves more units. You have to sell more units to account for the lower pricing, but your also ensuring customers check you out first on their shopping list the next time they purchase something!
Rob@WretchedMS 03-20-2011, 10:40 AM Ya, I've dealt with Branden for a long time, I remember when he was just starting out.
I have certain people that i need to listen to, and others that i don't, and some of the people that i have to listen to are DBA themselves.
Virus 03-20-2011, 10:59 AM How about, "call for pricing" :)
ColdFuzion 03-20-2011, 11:43 AM You have to put the item in the cart for the price and WOW is the price good. Placed my order =) Thanks a ton for running this special, could not pass it up!
thegreatob 03-20-2011, 12:21 PM I am interesting in purchasing new fronts for my car (http://www.g8board.com/forums/private.php?do=showpm&pmid=294892#). Not sure which rotors to buy though, hopefully you can help me with that. I have a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT with the Sport option. The car is modified with headers, intake, tune. I drive aggressively and have already had the front rotors cut once (last year). Unfortunately I'm getting the old familiar shimmy while braking. I want to take advantage of your DBA Rotor Sale but confused on which ones to purchase. Thanks in advance for your assistance

replied to your pm.
1 GR8 G8 03-20-2011, 06:36 PM I ordered the slotted 4000s this afternoon and WOW what a great price! Thanks Rob!
Rob@WretchedMS 03-25-2011, 05:53 PM ok, The prices were raised a couple days ago, these new prices are a bit higher than the special that just went out, but they are still much lower than the old pricing.
You will have to still add them to your shopping cart to get the lowest pricing, and it will still be very very good for you.
1 GR8 G8 03-25-2011, 07:47 PM Rotors came in yesterday! I now have to choose pads which to me is the hardest decision lol.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-25-2011, 09:02 PM just remember, no EBC, anything else is fine, just no EBC.
08G8V8 03-25-2011, 09:08 PM just remember, no EBC, anything else is fine, just no EBC.
Can you clarify? Have not heard anything about not using EBC pads with DBA rotors. I'm sure G8V8 has this combo.
Rob@WretchedMS 03-25-2011, 10:35 PM There have been issues with the resin they use in their pads interacting with DBA Rotors.
I don't know the specific details on what exactly, but it leaves deposits on the rotors and causes issues. I don't believe it's anything that could be considered a safety issue, just causes noise/vibration issues.
Spiceredm606 04-12-2011, 06:32 AM Rotors came in yesterday! I now have to choose pads which to me is the hardest decision lol.
Hawk Ceramic i have them on my GTO and the Mrs. will have them on her G8 next week.
1 GR8 G8 04-17-2011, 09:00 PM I couldn't resist Rob I ordered the matching DBA slotted rears! Your prices were too good to pass up. I ended up going with Porterfield R4S pads up front and I'm ordering the matching rears tomorrow. I got them directly from Porterfield. I don't know anyone who's tried this combo so I'll have to report back on how they pair up.
Rob@WretchedMS 04-27-2011, 09:13 AM Still have the best prices in the market on the DBA's!
Check us out,
All of the orders from the weekend have shipped!
Thank you!
Rob@WretchedMS 09-30-2011, 01:45 PM might want to check things again, :-)
