Is anyone , or has anyone found a Drag radial , for an 18" rim ,9"' wide ? Maybe 17" ,9" wide. Any Aussie on this? :judge:

The problem is the height. I need a 26.7 - 27.0 Hard to find not in a 15. Even with a 16in wheel you have to change brakes. I will start looking at all manufacturers 17 in this week.

I think 17s are the answer, That 's what the Aussie are running . I'm not running anywhere near your times yet , but I striped the tire , and I'm spinning pretty good thru 1st gear. 13.49@106 , but a 2.07, 60', poor 60' for these times, Going on mustang dyno 7/21 to see hp with rotofab cai magnafows, and posted GRRR8 mods(I know you have a lot more tricks up you sleeve ,Charlie ) I wll post results.Lol

I always have to! Everyone does the mods as fast as I create them. I have to stay out front. :)

Thanks Atlas. I just don't know if I can fit a 28x10 on there. A 275/40 is a little short also. Dilemmas dilemmas.......

If you're looking for a tire for strickly the track then go with something on the M/T site linked below.

http://www.mickeythompsontires.com/strip.php?item=ETStreetRadial

However, if you want something to put on the car for street driving that'll give more grip than a street tire but won't be so soft that you need new tires in 8k miles and last for a while then go with Nitto 555R's.

Generally speaking when it comes to drag radials it goes like this.

Most Grip.........................................l.... .....................................Best Mileage

Mickey Thompson.................. BFG Drag radial................................... Nitto555R

One thing I have noticed is drag radials don't do anything (hold on) . But , if you change the torque convertor they will , or if you have a power adder such as nitrous/turbo/supercharger they will because you will have a bad traction problem . With bolt ons at the track so far from what I have tested , it isn't woth it just yet .

I absolutely agree 100%. There's no reason for anyone to have drag radials unless there is just cause. I've got a set on my car but only because of the lack of traction due to my turbo. With bolt ons drag radials really are not going to be worth the money IMO.

I am preparing for the converter, headers and new tune. I know I will need them. It already is starting to spin if you load at all. It didnt do that before. I think it is getting looser now.

I'm glad to see someone jumping into modding. I'm lookin forward to seeing how the car responds to the mods and the numbers you put down. It'll definitely be a good template for many future G8 modders to come.

Jumping? I have taken a GIANT leap into mods. I have to come up with my own because I already have them all! LOL
