Pulling up to a red light on woodward and 12mile I thought I saw a GTO, Yep right next to me the dude looks over and there was about 3 seconds after I stopped before the light turned green in manual I stayed in first to see if he would try me and he tryed me after he got out the hole and I don't know what happened to him but by 3rd he got out of the gas and was waaay back there(maybe missed a gear). I waited for him but he stayed back about 5 cars and avoided me all the way until I turned off and then he passed by.

Sorry to say but most likely he wasnt trying or cant shift. Stock vs stock the ls2 goat would beat us all day 2005-2006=ls2 2004=ls1. But if you sincerely think he was trying a wins a win :).

I used to live in the Cardnial Court Apts. right on 12 & Woodward. Oh, how I miss the street light races during the summer on Woodward and in the general Metro Detroit area. The mid-Michigan area now where I live sucks for street racing. I'll race anything that will bite around me.

Thank God that there are Dealership punks over in Midland that go to Northwood University, that always is fun!

Sounds like you were having fun. Didnt know if you knew but they only made the Goats in 04-06. G8's are the 06+ LOL. Did the Gto you were racing have hood scoops and split dual exhaust or dualed out the one side? in case of the latter it was a Ls1 (04) like mine. While stock Gto's have to use premium (modded = alot more premium:angel:), does a G8 have the ablility to run on regular? You have some great looking rides - even better if it's cheaper to fill them up!:thumbsup:

By the thread starters description of his race, it definately sounds like the guy missed a gear. It happens all the time in the M6s.

Also, with the jump you got on that "modded GTO" something had to be going on with him (he left late/poor reaction time, had wheel spin or hop issues, etc). "Modded GTO" usually don't run mid 13s.

My bone stock 06 A4 GTO ran 13.3 @ 105 mph my first trip to the track in warm weather.

Summer 07', before i started modding i went to Dinnwiddie and ran 13.8 @102mph my first time at the track, but had a slipping clutch... and i have a LS1. A stock LS2 Goat is low 13's, but modded they are stupid quick.
But then again... there is that ever present drivers mod!

Are you stock or modded? Where was the GTO when he let off?
