: CAI & CATBACK w/o Tune Advice?

I just past 600 and I'm ready to put the Roto-Fab CAI and Magnaflow catback on. However, I have some concerns.

1. I live on the upper Gulf coast of Florida and have to deal with the poor availability of fuel when the hurricanes are blowing us around. Therefore a tune that necessitates 93 octane is out of the question.

2. My G8 is a daily driver therefore mpg's is a concern.

3. I've read some posts that said there were some stability and air fuel ratio problems w/o a tune. Someone told me that extenders for the O2 sensors may overcome these issues.

I'm not trying to beat any land speed records. I just want to have some fun without breaking the bank.

Thanks,
Chris

I ran mine that way for over a month without tune. No trouble, just not max potential.

1. In an event like that you could run 87 no problem with our tune. It'll ping a bit until it settles into the low octane table. It'll get considerably less gas mileage then it does on 93 but if it's an emergency I'm sure that will be the last of your worries.

2. Not sure with just those two mods, most people see 3+ MPG increase with our tune; more than enough to offset the increased cost of premium in most cases.

3. Some people report that, we havent seen it. You dont need to modify anything for just those two mods, a tune will help you get the most of them but its not necessary.
