We have just been given authorization by JBA to start pre-selling their shorty headers for the pontiac G8. The headers are still a couple of weeks from being in our hands but we wanted everone to have the opportunity to get on board early. Would the horsepower gains be similar between Long tube headers vs. The Magnaflow Catback AND shorties ? ...

We have not done head to head testing yet with the G8.
But from our past experience shorties will never beat long tubes. Especially on the G8, due to the nature of the entrance of the exhaust into the catalytic converters.

However if you want to remain 50 state smog legal, it is the only solution.

I think he was asking if a full exhaust including shorties and hig flow cats is worth the same as LT headers...

With the designs out now, particularly ARH I am going to go with no... but it will be cheaper and more leagaler...

High flow cats are technically not 50 state legal and would void the whole point of using shorties.

Either way the long tubes would still make more power.
