I bought my G8 from a dealer who had someone clean the engine compartment and then spary it with this oily mess that attracts dirt and is super oily to the touch.
What is the best and safest way to get that stuff off my car? Afterwards, should I use the In and Out spray w/ the new VR-T you have that is water repelent?

I have a video that I made specifically for this reason, its a pretty commonly asked question. Hope this helps:

What about cleaning the engine bay with steam?

Yeah, I hate when they use that stuff...its a magnet for dust and dirt..plus the oil gets everywhere if you touch it. Thanks for the video, there were some good tips in there. The budget is a bit tight right now so I'm wondering if the simple green I have in the garage would do the trick?

Simple Green is fine, but less kind to aluminum so be sure to dilute it heavily if you have any aluminum accessories.

Duly noted, once I get my finances in order I plan to start saving for the Premium kit with the P&C.
