So do you think we will ever see an AWD version of the G8 *if* it does well here in the states?

I'm guessing they will save an AWD zeta for chevy. Keep Pontiac RWD. (assuming they still do a chevy zeta with the EPA stuff and all)

What I read today in MT is that each new car has a GM mandate to achieve improved mpg, regardless of whether the car grows in size or hp or changes from fwd to rwd. This was referencing the possible halt to development of a new, larger G6, but would also mean that a rwd Impala that does not have better mpg numbers than the current fwd Impala would not get a green light. The Camaro and G8 are both new vehicles so do not fall under that directive. AWD is a cheap enough option on teh CTS, for example, that I would certainly entertain spending similar amount on the G8 for it, and would even settle for an inbetween engine such as the DI V6 from the CTS as the trade-off

I think it's possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a hipo AWD sedan, a la VY Coupe4. It would probably be based off the V6 variant, if anything.

Now if they make a Coupe4-type sedan, I'll be all over it. :)
