: And yet another find.
Jedi_13 05-24-2011, 12:22 AM 09.5 Stryker Blue GT. 28,100 miles. Slight curb rash on bottom front bumper. Non-smoker. Serviced regularly and uses premium gas only. No mods. Has sport and premium package i believe. It has leather and sunroof along with 19" wheels. Asking $ 26,800. Is this a good price or should it be slightly less?
colby1035 05-24-2011, 07:07 AM Should be less, but in that color might be worth it if you cant find it anywhere else.
johnh 05-24-2011, 08:12 AM Not too bad, the SBM cars usually are a few grand more than the other colors....
In your case its loaded (like mine!) and its a great color.
I would try to get them down a bit, but it might be tough given the rarity of the color..
Jedi_13 05-24-2011, 10:34 AM How much should I try n lower the price to?

Is it a dealer of a private party? If it's a GM dealer is it "certified used"? As this gets you another 1 year 12k miles on the warranty. If it's private party I'd say 26,800 is way high, should be closer to 22k range. If it's a dealer you're likely going to have to pay more than private party but hopefully you could still get them close to the 24k range. Like some of the other posters said a SBM car had lower production numbers so while some people could care less, others will pay a little more for that color if they really want it... that's what I had to do.
Jedi_13 05-24-2011, 11:48 PM Its a privat seller. He says he wants to pay the loan off on his car and upgrade to a GXP. I told him 24,500. He still wants it in the low 26s.
cheezesg8gt 05-25-2011, 04:31 PM Jedi,
I too think the price is a little high, but you are gonna have to pay if you want a blue one. There was only 1,100 blue GT's made, so don't let the price discourage you that much if you are set on blue. And let me tell you that when you see the color up close, ITS F-IN AWESOME. I bought mine new 2 years ago and drove almost 2 hours out of my way to get it, it was the only blue one within 500 miles of where I live. Hopefully you guys can meet somewhere in the middle on the price?
Good luck
skinsfangreg 05-25-2011, 05:40 PM I too think its a little bit high. Id offer $24.5K. I paid less than that for mine with 11k. I know of a dealership that's selling an SBM w/ 70k for $21k. You could probably get it alot cheaper though.
Jedi_13 05-25-2011, 05:55 PM That is a decent price for 70k but I'm trying to keep it kinda low in miles due to powertrain warranty. I told the guy, i'd still have to pay for TT&L, shipping it back to Houston, and have to pay to book a roundtrip to NC to go see the car before buying. And not to mention, my damn credit union wants 10% down on my loan!

SBM, Roof, sport and premium. $24-26k seems to be the going rate, i paid $21,500 for mine (about a month ago) for 29k miles but no roof, premium only. but i know i got a deal on mine
Jedi_13 06-16-2011, 06:33 PM WAs that deal from a dealer or private seller?
lvgmman 06-16-2011, 07:31 PM WAs that deal from a dealer or private seller?
If you are asking about my deal then it was private party. I bought mine off of this board and had to drive it back from Colorado. Well worth it for my SBM dream car. Me personally didn't want a sunroof because my head hit the headliner with the roof cars now my head cl
ears by half an inch. BTW I had a brain fart I paid 21k flat.
Zodiac 06-18-2011, 12:25 PM Here's a nice SB for $21,999 on ebay 27k miles.
Jedi_13 06-18-2011, 03:14 PM So what do the sport and premium packages offer? I know the sport package has the 19 inch wheels.
lvgmman 06-18-2011, 04:19 PM So what do the sport and premium packages offer? I know the sport package has the 19 inch wheels.
premium = leather and fancy radio always
sport = 19" rims and thicker 10 and 2 position steering wheel
that car on ebay is a steal..... even with TTL
Jedi_13 06-18-2011, 05:02 PM Do you guys think the G8 sunroof is even worth having? I would like one with a sunroof but....
johnh 06-19-2011, 10:11 AM Do you guys think the G8 sunroof is even worth having
I love the sunroof, its great to open it and get the open air feeling. Its not the quietest sunroof but I like it. Its really up to you, but the G8 doesn't give a closed in feeling without it.
lvgmman 06-19-2011, 01:17 PM i wanted a sunroof but when i sat in a G8 that had one my head was hitting the headliner. when i sat in one without one my head didn't hit by about an inch. i am 6'3" and my brother is 6'5" and we both don't hit. i must sit weird.... for people that aren't as tall then i guess it would just be personal preference from personal experience my last car had a roof and now my g8 doesn't i don't even think about it. however my left arm is more tan than my right now. lol
macvangelist 06-19-2011, 03:54 PM I bought my SBM for $19500 in Feb of this year with 60k miles on it. Has everything but sport package, also has a sunroof. I know I got it for really cheap, but I think 26k is too high. I agree with the other guys here that 24 is a bit closer to reality. I honestly didn't know my color was this rare until I read this thread! Lol

macvangelist 06-19-2011, 03:56 PM Oh, and IMHO the sunroof is a deal-breaker. I love it. Plus, it seems it makes the car a bit more rare because it seems like so many do NOT have one. It is a personal preference, though.

Jedi_13 06-19-2011, 04:27 PM Well I'm 6'3'' and I sure dont want that headliner hitting my head. I haven't sat in one with the sunroof yet.
Turbo301 06-21-2011, 11:40 AM Well I'm 6'3'' and I sure dont want that headliner hitting my head. I haven't sat in one with the sunroof yet.
I'm 6'4" and my hair JUST touches the headliner in a sunroof car. Drove me nuts after about 5 minutes behind the wheel, so I knew I needed one without :). If you go all "Terror Squad" and lean back really far, then you can clear the roof even as a tall person, but it'll look and feel really awkward.
I also find the sunroof very claustrophobic - like the ceiling is caving in on you. But again, that's just personal preference. The majority of the cars I came across had a sunroof, so I was delighted to finally find one that didn't (in stark contrast to a previous post that found otherwise - it must depend on where you live!).
Jedi_13 06-24-2011, 12:08 PM If I were to get a GT without the sport or premium package, could i always swap out the old steering wheel for the one that comes in the sport package? I'm thinking about jumping on that one from ebay. Do you guys think its worth buying?

that has the premium package, If you have the money and don't buy this car you will be kicking yourself later. It's SBM there are only about 1,100 of them if i remember correctly. the sport wheel drove me nuts thats why i didnt get a sport the wheel was uncomfortable for regular driving to me. i added the aluminum pedal covers ($60) from gm parts direct and changed the rims. sport is not a big deal IMO the only thing it is good for to me is the 19" rims but IMO all the g8 rims are ugly except the GXP.

They are advertising that car with Bluetooth, but based on the VIN that car does NOT have Bluetooth! For the car to have Bluetooth the last 7 of the VIN needs to begin with L3xxxxx. That car is an L1, which is an early build 2009.
No roof (maybe you like it that way), no sport, no bluetooth, almost 30k miles... You could make an offer but personally I wouldn't pay the "Buy it Now" price for that car... but In the end it's up to you, if it's what you want go for it. I think you can find a better deal if you keep looking and are patient.
Good Luck!
macvangelist 06-24-2011, 12:48 PM I'd jump on this. Price is pretty decent w/those miles. You can be pretty sure it's never seen the snow, too. My car is identical to this one except I have a sunroof and higher miles. It looks like this one is a 2009.5, too, which mine is not.

Is not a 2009.5 VIN
lvgmman 06-24-2011, 01:28 PM i haven't seen a single SBM GT for less than 24k that had less than 30k miles. maybe i am just looking in the wrong places.
hell most dealers will give you 22k on trade from what i have read on this board. so if you don't like it you can trade it in to carmax for $22,000 :)
Jedi_13 06-24-2011, 01:33 PM I called up that dealer with the car on eBay and asked him if he had an address to his dealer to see if I could look at the car and he said to call him back on the day I could go see it. Then he would give me the address. What kinda crap is that!

lol, stealers won't give you time unless you are there. call and ask for internet sales. you will get a better price and they will understand that you are buying long distance.
johnh 06-24-2011, 01:55 PM Its fairly easy to swap steering wheels. I like the sport wheel over the regular one, the GXP is nice to but less difference between GXP wheel and Sport.
Wheels are another easy swap, so don't worry there.
Seems like a good price on that car...
Jedi_13 06-24-2011, 02:18 PM Reason I asked him for the address that way I could have someone on this board in Florida check out the car.
