I came across this product that allows one to integrate an iPod and HD Radio into a factory radio that is SAT radio ready. I'm assuming that the 08 head unit is. This appears to be a decent solution. It supports GMLAN radio's. Maybe I'm hoping this will work with our setup.

2008's like yours, lacking XM and a SAT antenna and Bt might or might not be SAT ready. Blaupunkt is silent on the issue.

Will not work... peripheral stuff generally hoks up to the second antena line on the factory xm box...

I'm more interested in the ipod part only. I looked at the HD radio option and it taps into the regular fm antenna. Our radios have the connections, if they are enabled in the radio software how knows until you plug it in.
