i was wonderin if a 20x8.5 rims with a 20 offset in the back and a 40 offset in the front would work without sticking out of the fender. The wheels are the MRR GT1s

assuming same width tires the 40s will stick out .3 inches further, the 20s will stick out 1.1 further. I have about .7 inches between my sidewall and a plumbline droped from the top of the fender all the way around.

So just go with the 40s all the way around. If you want it perfect looking get a 10 mm spacer that will put you perfectly in line with the fender.... just do not drop it and you ma want to get pedder's stock ride height stiffer springs so you dont tear up your fenders on a high speed bump.

i would go with the same offset all around but i wanna go for the dish look in the back...the front tires will be 245 and the rears will be 255

The 255 wll stick out an aditional 1.3 inches from stock... will not work in a 20 offset.

Sorry but that just doesn't sound cool!!! I think it will look weirder than crap.

Then get wider wheels in the back. Why not 8.5 in the front with a 9.5 or 10.0 out back?

Yeah, do that. It will look much better than having the rear wheels sticking out from the fenders and you can find a lot of staggered sets with 35 - 40mm offsets in the rear and 40 - 45mm for the the fronts. AZA makes them at Wheelmax.com with several styles to choose from. Then you could get 275/30-35 on the rear and 245/35-40 on front. That is what I had on my GTO and it really looked great.

a 20 off set is a little low
