I got my G8 GT dynoed and tuned by a custom tuner in Saint Petersburg/Tampa Bay area and my numbers are:

Dyno #1

291.1hp......306.71lbs torque

After tuned and transmission tweaking

334.15 hp..........341.17lbs torque

Damn good for 2.5 hours of work.
He also ported the intake and exhaust manifold!!

I think you should share the name of this tuner; sounds like he's REALLY a miracle worker.

Why would he port the exhaust manifolds?

Why would he port the exhaust manifolds?

Opens up the exhaust flow for a fairly reasonable price. Depending on how well the exhaust manifold is built (due to mass production tolerances), you will pick up some power by eliminating casting flash, opening the manifold ports to match the gasket, removing obstructions in the exhaust flow, etc. This is not as good as headers, but is cheap and stealthy way to pick some power.

Intake and manifolds are probably worth 20ish HP by themselves.

As I posted in the other thread, it was very nice meeting you yesterday and hope you are as happy as I am with your extra 43 horses under the hood.

I was very impressed with the G8 and excited about the potential of that car in just the tune alone. You have a gorgeous car and I also loved the exhaust note.

Just A FYI folks, we brought the intake manifold already ported to the dyno, but I think there was some confusion with exhaust manifold statement. We also installed a ported throttle body at the same time. It is however very easy to remove the intake and tb on these car's.

Here is a before and after graph for all to see, great power under the curve as well.

I agree that would be fast. I see from the post below the intake and tb were already ported units and just bolted on.

Where exactly are you located in St.Petersburg. I've been making frequent trips to Tampa monthly and i really wanted a dyno tune rather than a mail order.Phone # if you could.

Not sure if the owner want's his other mods listed, I'll leave him to answer that question.

pnther2
The correction factor is SAE.
Heracles
The tune picked up about 33 rwhp, and another 10 when intake installed and retuned again.

Flash99, Mike@Newera, GRRRR8...THANKS!
