Ok so a 04 wrx with 240-250 to the wheels. I work with him and he's a good dude but I think he's sandbagging me. He has 18psi on the stock 2.0 with the stock tranny. His clutch is slipping now (acually is) so we can't race and he "doesn't know" what it runs at the track. Hahaha. Sound like a sandbagger to me. I've run 13.3 when it was 90+ with 2.2 60's with a 91 tune. I'm using the 94 tune now but haven't been to the track. Also were both on The same hankooks. Who should win in the 1\4 and the twisties??

I raced my co worker. he has an 06 wrx with some basic mods. intake, exhaust, tune. I only have a rotofab intake. I pulled on him on the highway pretty good from 50 to 120. Your car has more power than mine but it shouldnt stop you from taking him. an 04 comes stock with 14 psi on the 2.0 motor.

'06 WRX has the 2.5 liter. '04 has the 2.0(as you mentioned). Not a huge jump in hp, but in torque there is a noticeable difference. If the OP is running a 13.3(somewhere around 16-108), the '04 WRX should be trapping around 104 or so. The OP may be playing catch up if the WRX hooks, but he should get him in the end.
I will say this, if the WRX driver is good, he can cut a 13.0-13.2. Should be a drivers race.

Thanks guys. He has 237 whp and the 5 speed. Ya he has the open deck 2.0. Were both thinking it will be close too. Hes throwing the clutch in this week so we'll see how it goes. Ps. You guys are making me want to throw my 18's on to get a little better 60 than these 20's.
If you want a better chance at winning, I would toss the 18's on your car as long as they got good tread. If you hook, you'll be just fine.

I still think that he shouldnt have a problem taking him. The WRX driver will have to really abuse his new clutch and drive train in oder to get a perfect launch. Subies are known for launches that are a little inferior for what they are set up to do. I have a ton of friends with these cars they are always talking with me about this and I have driven with them as well. Good luck OP but I have a feeling you will be fine.

he prob only going to run a 14.0 or high 13s. the car can do more but to launch an awd car from a stop is alot of stress on the drivetrain and clutch.
only way to get a good time on that car is to drive it like you want to break it.
my friend blew up second gear on his
