You may want to avoid the 2009 CTV-S model. :(

I played with one on Woodward last night and man those suckers move out. 600 HP vs 360 = G8 ownage.

I stuck with him for a second out of the hole but that was it.

CTS-V, perhaps? Yeah, they're supercharged 8's and flagship of the caddy lineup. I wouldnt do that.

The CTS-V is a beast:
6.2L supercharged V-8 (LSA)
Displacement (cu in / cc): 376 / 6162
Supercharger: Gen. 6 R19 with single brick intercooler; 1.9L displacement w/4-lobe rotor design
Horsepower (hp / kW @ rpm): 550 / 410 @ 6200 (est)
Torque (lb-ft / Nm @ rpm): 550 / 745 @ 4000 (est)
Curb weight (lb / kg): manual: 4200 / 1905 (est)
Power-to-weight: 7.6:1

That last line should read either weight-to-power ratio 7.6:1 or power-to-weight ratio 1:7.6

I think I would be too busy drooling to remember how to race. That is the ultimate sedan, IMO. Didn't know they were out on the roads yet.

We tend to see the new US cars first, many of the auto execs get cars before the public.

I would love to own one, my wife hates the caddy look but I love it. She said she'd drive one with 600 HP though.

Wow, awesome!

Was the G8 GT ever tested around the ring? I'd be anxious to see what kind of times it would have

I know, crazy. Then again it is a love it or hate style, you'll find many people who hate the newer caddy styling.

Don't feel bad, think of it as the G8's big brother who brings glory to the whole family. Sort of like being a high school football quarterback whose big brother is in the NFL.

Just think what BMW M5 and M3 owners are puckering when they see that CTS-V BEAST!

The interior is first rate but the blind spots are a killer. Back seat is small.

I agree it is a total monster, but really just a coupe with 4 doors for insurance purposes.

When I am 6'2" 245, and the tiniest person out of all my friends, the smallest sedan I look for is in BMW 7-series territory. The G8 fits the bill perfectly, but the CTS is just a coupe in my book.

have you all seen the coupe that they ARE going to build?

according to my DashHawk, I'm running 0-60 in 4.4 to 4.5 seconds.

No disrespect to you or your car George but you'll need more than that to beat one. Turbo time?

556 hp 551 fp...

Shouldn't be hard to get to 600 NA in a G8 if you plan it right.

I am an old confused bitter man that drives an infiniti coupe. But I am bored with the car, I am thinking of the following vehicles. The problem is that I love all of these vehicles. Any advice.
1. Pontiac g8.
2. Cadillac CTS.
3. Camaro ss.
4. Chrysler 300c srt8, you can buy a used one for like 24k.

Agreed. Amazing Sedan but lacks in space IMO. Backseats are really cramped and while the exterior lines are beautiful the driver seat and passenger side seem to embrace you and make you feel like you are in a small car. My head almost touches the ceiling in the caddy but not in the g8. Its like the cabin is much smaller.

Naw..., if anything I'll put a Magnacharger on it, but I'm not really planning on it.. Around town, the CTS-V doesn't really scare me.

Did I mention the cam I'll be installing?

Hard to find a MSRP on the web. Base shows mid $30,000s for V6 , but one of the option pkgs is over $10,000 (WTF?) Can't find the V8 option. Methinks a loaded one might be pricey. But I wouldn't drive a Cadillac if they gave it to me.
