SLO 60 08-28-2011, 06:36 PM  All I can say is WOW. Thanks for sharing all of the pics.
GXPaycheck 08-28-2011, 06:48 PM Are they "highly tuned" or "GM tuned"?
Nice lookin rides!
AussiePontiacG8 08-28-2011, 06:53 PM Ha!, Good question but in this case I would say HSV tuned
Screw991le 08-28-2011, 06:54 PM Awesome!!! We need some U.S. dealership to look like this.
AussiePontiacG8 08-28-2011, 07:11 PM You are very welcome, pleasure!
SMSO966 08-28-2011, 07:37 PM Never have I wanted to move to Australia more. They are a little strict about porn there, but with cars like these, who needs porn?
HSV tuned and set up specialy by HSV.
The HSV VE's are also the first full run model to get their own specific motor (LS3), rather than the standard V8 which they used to have to share with the more "general" SS's Holden put out.
As for the "non car" stimulation, we recommendation, our nations capital - Canberra.
Canadarob 08-29-2011, 07:13 AM I like how they have carried the hood scoops over to their newer models.
Troutman 08-29-2011, 08:56 AM I think the reason for that is they ended up with a lot of spare G8 bonnets after the car was suddenly withdrawn from the US market. The same reason they offered G8 front ends on some Holdens.
Nice pics :)
move-over 08-29-2011, 09:34 AM Unbelievable GM won't make these available in US while Dodge and Ford are selling Chargers and Mustangs as fast as they can make them. Also, thanks for the pictures.

it's not like there were thousands of hood laying around, but the money had been invested in the tooling, so may as well take advantage of it.
also helps HSV further differentiate themselves from the generic Holden's (and more expensive for people to try and kit their Omega's! lol
zepcom 08-29-2011, 11:17 AM I need a new pair of underoos
Wish we could get those here :'(
Underoos can be purchased, alebit "used" from ebay. Check it out. :wink2:
zepcom 08-29-2011, 11:21 AM This is the thread I will point to those who think the Caprice PPV is "hideous".
When they bash the "first generation revival of Holden imports" they are preventing THESE CARS from ever reaching US soil again.
As such, I look forward to the success of the PPV so that oneday I can get a modern day Clubby or VE SS or VF SS with the greatness that encompasses this thread.
Enough said.

That would make sense, though according to media reports there was in fact a substantial number of G8 parts left over. Presumably the HSV simply re-used the tooling.
The Motor Report August 20, 2009
Reports have surfaced this week suggesting that Holden plans to make use of its extensive supplies of surplus G8 body parts in a limited-edition Commodore SS V variant.

ranovatio 08-29-2011, 12:15 PM wooow
i want one
do you know if they will be exporting them to the middle east ??
SaubGT 08-29-2011, 10:35 PM This makes me hate Gm even more. You cant tell me that the UTE revised bumper clip, SAME hood, and flashy rear bumper didn't scream pontiac styling. We got short changed again.
Troutman 08-30-2011, 12:51 AM ranovatio: The Chevrolet Lumina CSV CR8 was the Middle Eastern version but I presume it was dropped from the line-up.
SaubGT: The Maloo ute costs over $60,000 in Australia which is probably why the Pontiac ST was to be a toned-down version.
Pontiac G8 Man 09-10-2011, 09:41 AM HSV Rules...!!!
GXP4RO 09-10-2011, 09:56 AM Why GM Why do you torture us stateside..........
DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU, DAMN YOU!!!
On a good note GM hired Bob Lutz as a consultant......hope he brings this back somehow!!!
AussiePontiacG8 09-11-2011, 08:22 PM The only HSV export was the GXP to the US of A, correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is the case
Pontiac G8 Man 09-12-2011, 04:54 AM The U.S. GXP is not a HSV car... we wish it was!
Ace22 09-12-2011, 07:18 AM Wow....speechless! Oh what could have been Pontiac! Thanks for sharing!
AussiePontiacG8 09-14-2011, 09:28 PM I believe the US GXP is an HSV export. HSV in AUS also had an GXP model and I was told when I was there that this is the case. You have a badge on your GXP "GM Performance Division" in front of the hood latch....This is HSV
Pontiac G8 Man 09-15-2011, 04:54 AM The US GXP does not have the HSV ID Badge under the hood please see photo below of a AU GXP ID Badege.
AussiePontiacG8 09-15-2011, 08:05 PM Right, you are absolutely correct!! US version of this badge is "GM Performance division" for the US GXP's
Pontiac G8 Man 09-15-2011, 08:14 PM We could only hope one day we might have a real HSV car in the USA.
Pontiac G8 Man 09-15-2011, 08:21 PM The GM Performance Division badge also comes on the Camaro and it is not a HSV car. Please see photo below.
AussiePontiacG8 09-15-2011, 08:56 PM OK, fair enough, I will ask again for clarification. Doesn't seem right though, the only LS3's, brembo brakes, etc are HSV's down under as I understand it....Thanks!
Pontiac G8 Man 09-16-2011, 05:10 AM I wish we had HSV cars in the USA...! If Chevrolet brings the Commodore back as the SS in 2013 maybe they will also import a CSV CR8 from HSV. Please see photos below.
asylum 09-16-2011, 09:15 AM OK, fair enough, I will ask again for clarification. Doesn't seem right though, the only LS3's, brembo brakes, etc are HSV's down under as I understand it....Thanks!
LS3's are HSV only, but they are fitted on the main Holden production line at Elizabeth, which enabled them to be fitted to the G8 GXP without having to deal freight across the country which would have no doubt jacked the price up!
The Brembo's, although developed originally for the G8 GXP are now used on a few different australian models. The entry-level HSV "GXP" which was basically a clubsport or maloo with the G8 GXP rear end, cloth seats and the US-tune FE3 suspension was available towards the end of the E2 series.
Holden now build the "redline" package for SSV or CalaisV commodores, which also include the Brembo brakes, forged 19's and FE3.
AussiePontiacG8 09-16-2011, 09:17 AM Excellent, thanks for the clarification mate! Hence the confusion....
asylum 09-16-2011, 09:23 AM No worries!
off the top of my head, the only HSV's that have been built for export (officially) are the Vauxhall VXR series, and the left-hand-drive Chevrolet CSV CR8. There was news a while back about exports to Singapore (under the HSV name) but not sure what happened there?
Apparently there are also private importers in other RHD countries that will also get them in (Japan etc) but these would have nothing to do with Holden/HSV at all.
Pontiac G8 Man 09-16-2011, 09:28 AM I have a very good friend that works at HSV and Walkinshaw Performance and he told me HSV did not have anything to do with the US GXPs. But they did build the CSV CR8 for export.
zepcom 09-16-2011, 12:37 PM I wish we had HSV cars in the USA...! If Chevrolet brings the Commodore back as the SS in 2013 maybe they will also import a CSV CR8 from HSV. Please see photos below.
This. I like that nose. I want it.
Pontiac G8 Man 09-16-2011, 01:16 PM Don't we all...
WhiteHotG8GT 09-16-2011, 05:58 PM Underoos can be purchased, alebit "used" from ebay. Check it out. :wink2:
How does an unde-Roo differ from a regular Roo. Does "unde" stand for United Nations Designated Exotic animal or something?
Pontiac G8 Man 09-16-2011, 06:33 PM The Pontiac GXP performance sedan, killed off when GM axed the Pontiac brand at the end of 2009, has been revived on the other side of the world. The cancelled export order from Holden, General Motors' Australian outpost, has been picked up by its performance division, Holden Special Vehicles.
AussiePontiacG8 09-17-2011, 04:20 PM Fascinating, thanks for posting that!.....
http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2010/112_1003_pontiac_gxp_lives_down_under/viewall.html (http://www.motortrend.com/features/auto_news/2010/112_1003_pontiac_gxp_lives_down_under/viewall.html)
Well, HSV it is then :)
That article has me a little confused though... The Aussies are responding to it as well....
"Both cars will be priced as entry-level models in the HSV range"
.... Well that is probably close to double the US GXP original price, as the HSV's I took pictures of shown in this post are sold down under for $100K AU.
"Both GXPs are powered by the LS3 6.2-liter V-8, which pumps out 425 hp and 405 lb.-ft. on Aussie fuel."
....no the HSV's LS3's are tuned higher than 405HP (325Kw is approx 425Hp)
"The HSV GXP gains the more aggressive front bumper with daytime running lights introduced on the E2 HSV update late last year, and 19-inch alloy wheels from an earlier HSV. (Apparently the polished Pontiac GXP rims had too much bling for local taste.)".
...What? Too much bling? He must be making that up....
"as well as the premium dash with dual zone air-conditioning controls and an upgraded audio system"
....We have the dual zone on the GXP's and the GT's here in the US, I know my G8 has dual zone, what am I missing here?
"but the HSV car has a quieter exhaust because of stricter Australian noise limits"
...What? I know plenty of friends back home that have upgraded exhausts, maybe the reporter is talking about stock cars from the manufacturer?
"The GXP delivers the same performance and has the same power as the dearer models".
...again no, the 2011 HSV's are 325Kw which equates to roughly 425Hp vs US GXP LS3's at 405Hp, the torque is also different (correct me if I am wrong, but that is my understanding)
"When we saw the GXP coming through the Holden system we started looking at what we could do from a HSV point of view. And we think we've come up with something unique."
...Not to have a go at the boss of HSV, but more unique than the Pontiac G8 badge?
"HSV plans to build 400 sedans and 350 sport trucks in a strictly limited run, but already dealers and customers are calling for the GXP to become a regular part of the HSV lineup. Says HSV Marketing Manager Tim Jackson: "At this stage it is a limited edition. But we expect to learn a lot about this car. Let's get it out there and see what the interest is like and make a decision after that."
....I was just at the showroom a few weeks ago and it was not there....Unless we are talking about the ClubSport GXP, which I dont think so in this case....
Pontiac G8 Man 09-17-2011, 06:20 PM The U.S. GXP came through Holden not HSV but HSV got all the U.S. GXP part for their 2010 HSV GXP.
knglibrty 09-17-2011, 07:28 PM Ok thanks for rubbing it in to the preformance starved of us over here......
Pontiac G8 Man 09-17-2011, 07:32 PM I'm not rubbing it in... remember in 2013 the Commodore might come back as the Chevrolet SS maybe it will get the 6.2 Liter LS3 V8 engine. :)
AussiePontiacG8 09-17-2011, 07:40 PM Yes !! I heard the same rumor when I was down under, and I have heard them here in the US as well. There is also the strong rumor that 2013 will see the major redesign.... Fingers crossed!
Pontiac G8 Man 09-17-2011, 07:45 PM Go back to page 2 post #37 and look at the photos of a 2011 CSV CR8...!
AussiePontiacG8 09-17-2011, 07:53 PM Yes, very sweet indeed

agree with everything you say about good ol GM...
DangerousGT 09-18-2011, 02:32 PM I love the newer center console design in the E3, and looks like they get better leather unlike this GM perforated crap we have in our G8's.
I really like the black yellow combo in the pics.
Pontiac G8 Man 09-18-2011, 02:36 PM Check out this set of HDT Seats...!!!
DangerousGT 09-18-2011, 02:41 PM Check out this set of HDT Seats...!!!

Pontiac G8 Man 09-18-2011, 02:41 PM Me too...!!!
Pontiac G8 Man 09-20-2011, 06:30 PM I sent my friend at HSV another email to confirm the U.S. G8 GXPs were built by Holden and not HSV. Please see what he wrote:
To answer your question about the G8 GXP I have confirmed they were 100% build by Holden. The 6.0L G8s were built by Holden and when the 6.2L LS3s came they fitted them to pretty much the same cars and called them a G8 GXP.
asylum 09-21-2011, 11:03 AM (and added FE3 suspension, shiny wheels, brembo brakes, and slightly revised bumpers)
oh, and that 6-speed stick thing in the console
Pontiac G8 Man 09-21-2011, 11:19 AM You are correct...
BigV8 10-10-2011, 03:36 PM I like the design of the newer triple gauge pod.
Rich G 10-11-2011, 02:16 PM everything on these cars I love its a shame GM pulled the plug...
