Supporting vendors pay for the considerable bandwidth charges incurred by the Forum in exchange for the right to use the Forum to market and promote their goods and/or services.

Their payments mean that the Forum is free to the rest of us.

However, even vendors must follow certain rules.

Vendors shall not campaign for removal of a competing vendor or attempt to prevent establishment of same. Just because one vendor and another may have a "history" does not mean that "history" is allowed to carryover here.

Vendors shall also refrain from postings which are negative to their competition. In a free-market society each product or service should stand on its own merit and reputation. Vendors have the right to be free from negative posts and redirection away from their product WITHIN ANY VENDOR-STARTED THREAD and especially IN A VENDOR's SubForum. Sponsor Sales & GP (http://www.g8board.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27) and Sponsor New Products Showcase (http://www.g8board.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=28) are such inviolate areas.

Vendors can be subjected to negative press and posts in otherwise open forums. For example a member could start a thread contrasting and comparing similar products among 2 or more vendors. Such thread could even include the occasional reference to NSVs as outlined above (http://www.g8board.com/forums/showpost.php?p=79718&postcount=4)

Disputes on Transactions
The Forum allows members to post regarding a bad transaction with a vendor or another Forum member, but only after they have made a reasonable effort to resolve the issue offline. Then, when a post is made outlining the problem, the post must be factual and may not deteriorate into a rant or a vendor/tuner/member-bashing exercise.

We leave such threads open as long as they conform with Forum rules/guidelines and in order to give all sides in an issue the opportunity to comment. Then, the threads are locked and archived for future reference.

The matter may not be addressed in multiple threads or revisited with the same already-posted information on subsequent days.

These types of posts and threads however do not belong in the Supporting Vendor News & Announcements Sections or Vendor Subforums and should be made in a seperate thread in a section that pertains to the topic. For such posts we have established Buyer/Seller Feedback (http://www.g8board.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=29)

Multiple Postings
Vendors are discouraged from posting what appears tantamount to same thread regarding same product/service all over the forum at the same time. We understand that at times a showcase event for a product/service may be regional in nature and that posting not only in the vendor area but also in a regional subforum may be appropriate. We frown on wholesale duplication of entire threads as a way to generate publicity. If the members are not viewing your products in the product areas, maybe they are not interested. A better tactic is to create an original thread in a vendor area or related tech forum, and then post a linkback elsewhere.
