G8 in the News ...
"We're pretty impressed that GM managed to keep the base price below
$28,000 ... Mark our words, this car will sell out, at least in its first
year of production and perhaps one or two after that." John Neff, Autoblog,
October 2, 2007

"Zigging the zags up the switchbacks of Palomar Mountain, both G8
versions showed genuine cornering poise with trustworthy grip, suppressed
body roll, solid chassis rigidity, and ... tangible steering feedback ...
the V-8 attacks grades with a mighty shove and a barrel-chested bellow from
its twin tailpipes. The G8 GT will be quick, with 60-mph times likely to
fall in the low-five-second range." Car and Driver, November issue, after
test driving non-US global versions

"Just prior to the end of the drive, we stop near the Hoover Dam for a
few quick grab shots. A guy in his early 20s comes up and says, 'I don't
know what that is, but I like it.'" Motor Trend, November issue, on a drive
with GM engineers.

Thats from his Pontiac rep.I had heard too (2 wks ago) that they would be able to tag a car in December, and arrival would be late Feb, but now they say in that 10/12 update that the tag date will be in Jan, and delivery is in late Q1 which is late March - sounds like another month late  BTW - tagging a car means they can select from GM pre-selected optioned cars and colors, so good luck with your selection the first time around.

Actually with so few options to choose from, premium package, sport package, sunroof and who would not order at least two of those three? And what, only 6 colors, sounds like there should be plenty of cars exactly like a person would spec. (barring manual tranny)

Werd!! There cant be that many confgurations with so little options and colors. I want be in the market for a G8 until dec '08/jan '09 anyway so hopefully more options and colors will be out or i can find a steal on a 08MY.
