My G8 is pulling to the left. Ever since i hit that pot hole on when i got stuck in the rain. Do I need a wheel alignment or balance or both? Also, were is a good place to get this done? I heard of people getting a balance done and the balance ended up being way off.

If it is pulling it is definitely the aliment. You may have bent the tie rod. I would get it check ASAP before it takes a toll on the tire also.

everything is stock. I don't think i bent anything it wasn't like a gaping hole in the ground and the car still drives smooth as can be. Just pulling to the left.

Pulls, like a dragging brake pad, or drifts w/o braking? If it just drifts, amybe alignment like was said. After being on the road and it does it, touch your caliper/rotor QUICKLY to see if they're real hot. If so, a dragging caliper maybe.

it might be because when i brake i notice the wheel turns to the left in addition to it pulling a bit to the left when i drive. the breaking thing happened from day one.

If that solves your problem u have separated a belt on the tire from the impact and a belt separation will also give u pull. Moreover you should also locate a factory retailer for the tire make and have them do an adjustment for defect. Just rotate the tire back to front in case they want to drive it and don't mention the pothole U hit LOL! :drink:

While there have them them do a safety inspection on the front end, not an alignment check as this will cost u as much as an alignment. As long as it's not pulling and your steering wheel spoke is centered, your alignment should be fine.

Hope that helps!

Cheers!

An alignment is a tricky thing. If your alignment technician is not willing to spend time behind the wheel after each adjustment during the alignment process you will never get dialed in perfectly. I worked with the service manager and alignment technician to perfectly dial in my G8 after a Pedders Street I package install. It took three trips on the road to perfectly get the car to track correctly on a crowned road. If you are on an expressway the crown on the left lane is opposite the crown on the right lane. My car is dialed in to track perfectly on the right lane of an expressway. In the extreme left lane it will pull that's just the nature of the beast. So keep this in mind when spending money to get a perfect alignment.

I had the same poblem due to the struts if you hit one side of the car like a good bump it will through off the steering wheel .Most of the time it will get back the way it was.I being through this my self. The design of the strut and the tower bushing is not bolted down like convention struts will creat these kind of issues

Bumps in NJ, come on, where do you drive? The roads seem so bad this year and winter has not even started.

Can't wait to see those F1 cars try it.

I also agree, rotate the tires and see if there is a change. A bad tire can do crazy things. I spent a few bucks on alignments and balancing before figuring this out once.

I'm on north nj, I see my location is not listed. It was a bit of sarcasm. I pick up spare rims for my cars when I see them cheap. Ocassionally they come in handy.

Drives me crazy that so many new cars don't have spares. U need them around here.
