Well everyone first just let me say I didn't necessarily make the intake for more HP actually Im just looking for better air flow to the egine and for fuel economy purposes. I have increased my fuel economy by 3 MPG! in just 2 days after I installed this. That is if you don't step on it :). You really can't hear that so called woot sound because the V6 engine drounds the sound out our engines are so loud. Not complaining but can't really hear it. I had no choice but to use a 4 inch elbow put reducer inside to make it 3.5''. There is no 3.5 inch piping around in md so just went to pep boys bought a
1. 4''90 degree rubber elbow
2. 6 inch long 4 inch daimeter alumuinum pipe
3. 4" to 3.5" silicone coupler
4. 3.5" to 3.5" coupler
5. 3.5" 60 degree aluminum pipe
6. K&N about 7'' with 3.5'' opening
7. Spectre vacumm hose/ sensor drill whole kit
8. vacumm hose black

Total cost was about 100.00 not bad though compared to what other companies will be charging. Although mine is a 4'' to 3.5 which I would really like have all one size 3.5'' all he way to filter. It will do for now untill I can find a 3.5'' 90 degree rubber elbow and 6'' 3.5 diameter aluminum pipe around here. I am thinking about putting the filter downward to make it cold air just not a big fan of water getting on filter.

Great job on the install. Point the filter downwards and make some heat shielding and your done. :)

Good post!

At least someone's trying to get more HP out of this fine engine...Keep it up...I'm working on some ideas since the aftermarket is asleep on this one, but don't anyone loose any sleep over it! LOL!

Cheers!

Why do people always insist upon making an intake inside the engine bay?

It needs to be outside for cold air

Im not finished on it yet. I was planning to aim the filter downward behind the drivers headlight. The piping is not all the same diameter so this is just temp it is 4in diam to 3.5. I need the entire intake to be 3.5'' throughout but going to take some time to find what I need. Also for the vacumm hose line I had to run all the way to near the 60 degree pipe near the filter because the pipe was to close to where the vacumm line came out. So the vacumm line is about 15 inches long and what I really wanted was it just to be like the stock one was about 3-4 inches long. It will take some time one day next week hopefuly take a another run at it while the wife and daughter are out spending daddy's money.

make sure you put it in a box because it is actually losing horsepower right now because it is sucking in hot air from the engine bay

First thing russo performance tested was a pod filter and our 1/4 mile times went back they are very close to releasing there otr for the v6 which is similar to the v8 one which will get air from the front grill.

I really dont think without heat shield its making that much of a difference. I only notice that it sounds better overal and more MPG...

those intakes are like 495.00 thats rediculous. Im just gonna wait till the OTR for our car is complete which will be the best bang for the buck this was just a temp set up cant beat for 100.00...

Where did you plug the air duct hose? I ordered and OPG CAI but etheir i'm missing parts or it doesn't fit. Can't figure out how to plug in that hose that goes into the for elbow out the manifold, it won't reach.
