: Muscle Car Mania 13.291 @ 106.53
LasT_ResorT_G8 08-17-2008, 04:41 PM Muscle car mania at capitol raceway was finally a go today after being postponed in july. First run of the day I posted a 13.291 @106.53 with a 2.043 60'. That was my best time of the day since I hotlapped it consistently for 3 runs with only 20 min intervals. All in all im very impressed with the time and so were the on lookers at the track. Everybody loved the G :pimp:.

Nice personal best! What other times were you running?
...
LasT_ResorT_G8 08-17-2008, 10:59 PM 13.291,13.563, 13.532,13.602,13.707 those are all my times for the day. I think I averaged around a 13.4 hot lapping
MissNaySimon 08-18-2008, 12:12 AM Good job! I can't wait to get some mods on and see what happens!
Blackdevil77 08-18-2008, 07:39 AM was lookin at your signature and saw you get around 315 rwhp on a mustang dyno. What do you think that would be on a dynojet? Also, a 25 hp gain on a mustang dyno would still be a 25 hp gain on a dynojet or would it show up as a bigger gain on a dynojet?

I would guesstimate around 323-325hp on a dyno jet with the torque around 330. Dynojets are funny, in a sense that they only truly measure your horsepower and estimate the torque output. The mustang dyno will give you the truth, measuring both hp and trq.:judge:

Help us to understand how anything is able to measure horsepower directly, after all horsepower is a derivative or "calculated" from torque.
In fundamental forms HP is torque over time. Time in our case is represented by RPM. Basic HP calculation of HP TQ X RPM /5252 = HP
The Mustang dyno takes other dynamic load data into considerideration. For one is wind resistance, as speed increases thus does wind resistance. DynoJet's don't include this as part of analysis.

I agree with you fully. Really, what are Dyno numbers. They are just something to brag about when you could possibly go to a different dyno and get a 30hp loss.
If you want to be a Dyno queen, that is great. The only thing that is really matters is track times and the way your car performs.
And yes you are correct about the mustang vs dynojet comparison. In a nutshell, a mustang dyno is a load bearing dyno and a dynojet is not.
Yes, you might get lower numbers on a mustang dyno. But who cares if you do, as long as your car is tuned correctly.
Blackdevil77 08-18-2008, 12:25 PM are the gain numbers the same? For example, if you run your car on a mustang dyno AND dyno jet stock and then get a tune. If you get back onto the dyno jet AFTER the tune and it shows a 30 hp gain and then get back on the mustang dyno, would is also show the same 30 hp gain or perhaps 15 to 20?
LasT_ResorT_G8 08-18-2008, 12:36 PM Generally the increase is going to show less on the mustang dyno compared to the dyno jet. For example, the 30 hp gain you may see after a tune on a dyno jet may only yield 15-20hp on the stang dyno. All dynos are calibrated differently, but fact is you will see the real world increase on most stang dynos.

LasT_ResorT_G8 08-18-2008, 02:55 PM very true bro

exactly. I saw 13.2 and then 315 rwhp. What did you run stock on a Mustang dyno.

I think he was at 29xhp and 29xtq, but was with the rotofab and exhaust and un-tuned.
He will chime in though.
LasT_ResorT_G8 08-18-2008, 03:21 PM Im not really sure completely stock. With my exhaust and roto fab cai I was at 292hp 300trq
