My buddy and i were on our way to a car show last night and we caught a red light together so we decide to go. Light turns green and we both take off about the same then he starts pullin a little but towards the end of first gear i was pullin back on him. When he shifted into second i pulled a little buit more and put him about the back of rear door he stayed there until about 70 when we shut off. It was pretty close. He has 3.73 gears, headers with full 3 inch exhaust, bigger throttle body, bigger MAF, FWI, Deleted fan pulley deleted acand its a manual i think thats about it. Also i forgot to take the traction control off

This old 5.0s were torque monsters. The first 60 ft they get a good jump but putter out after that. Nice kill.

yeah if we wouldve went a full quarter i think i wouldve had atleast half a car length. it is def a torque monster and that was the best launch i have seen him get. He usually spins

Was he pissed/impressed in the G8?

Yeah he is impressed but we have wanted to race for awhile and both thought it would come out this way. he is always jealous though that he got beat by a four door family sedan

Last saturday I went to a NHRA meet at Maple Grove Pa. While there I saw a Pontiac booth that advertized a drawing for a new G8 and all the parts for 500 HP. They said the winner would receive a voucher to take to the dealer of their choice. Shortly after that boxes of parts would arrive from Pontiac to produce 500 HP that you would have to have installed. I asked how us G8 owners could get these parts. He smiled and said [stey tuned]. Ihope this means that Pontiac will be making these parts available to the rest of us. PS the drawind is in December. Dan #707

I think if you actually ran a full qtr mile you would have him by that much...don't forget, the Mustang came with 225hp and he hasn't added much. He only did as well as he did because it's lighter with more get up out of the hole (gear was really helping him).

he dynoed at 190 hp and 270 ftlbs before maf and headers so he is probably pushing around 215 and 280 now. And his mustang is actually in pretty good shape with only 80k on the clock. but yeah we are goin to the dragstrip to see what we actually do tomorrow night
