well, i had Kirk@VMS did the mail order tune and asked he take off the DOD. at the same time i put 3200 stall converter, ARH 1 7/8 longtube.

HRSK and roto-fab CAI were already installed on the car.

So far, everything works very good. tranny shift like the way i want it. i got about 24MPG on interstate doing about 65MPH.(Without DOD)

now in the city is another story!!! i got like 8 to 10 MPG:driving:
which i am still please with it. because i got heavy foot!!!
everything i have done to the car made it more fun to drive.

i wanna say thanks to Kirk!!!

So how is the converter working? assuming you have the Yank 3200 I think you're the first of us to actually get it installed.

Sweet! Yea, how do you like the torque converter & what is the driving experience like with it on? Did you install a transmission cooler?

Nice!

yes. i have yank 3200.

This is my first car with high stall converter. it change the way i think completely. although put it in was a pain and i almost break my wrest, not to memtion i had to swing in the DEX 6 on my garage floor. oh yeah!!! did i say i got burn few time try to fill/check tranny fluid!!!

The converter is wild. my car actually will break tires loose too easy in 1st. i tried to launch off idle on street with traction off. as soon as i floor it, the tires just go WTF and spin crazy. i was in sport mode and it just shoot straight to 6000 rpm in 1st then follow by early shift into 2nd due to tire spin. it is wild when you drive normal. from 1 to 4 shift, the rpm pretty much stay the same (2600rpm). until 5 and 6 it start to feel normal like stock. oh with this converter in, it made force downshift(WOT) alot smoother. alot of stuff i can't really describe it. you really need to put one in yours or take ride in mine.

Thanks! I have one in the living room awaiting install. Waiting for headers to come in so I can do it all at once.

the experience is like the 1st time but it last whole lot longer!!!
I really love this converter. i think higher stall converter is a must for auto tranny.
yes, i did put TCI cooler in. but its just temporary. until someone come out better one or i can fighre out better way to mount it. as far as cooler line route, i got it figure out pretty good i think. i used step bit drill 2 holes on driver side of plastic duct. cut the tranny line goes to driver side of radiator (return line)(the hard line about half way from fitting on the driver side of radiator to the center of radiator where line secure by the fan shroud). i flare a little where i cut so rubber hose won't slide off. on driver side line with fitting, turn it so it point to 1 or 2 o'clock. put the other piece of line back to where it was. i would put rubber hose on there before put it back to fitting. with the other side slide through the two hole drilled earlier. make sure your rubber is long enough. connect hose to the cooler.

as of now, i had to use plastic hold down to secure cooler. i will try to figure out a better way to mount cooler later. possibly have some cooler line made!!!

lsp 408 : It sounds like you're pretty happy with your Yank 3200 High Stall Torque Converter! The driving experience sounds awesome!

Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to wait until this Spring 2009 to do the torqe converter & extra trans cooler. I've got the Kooks 1 3/4" header system on order right now.

It seems like I should do the torqe converter before the DOD cam, see how that works, & then possibly go for a very mild DOD cam?

Thanks again for all the info! And enjoy your new torque converter!

Damn Wreck, you'll be totally one up on me when you get your torque converter in. Definitely let us know what you think. My biggest problem at the 1/4 mile track is launching the car. It sounds like with a new converter getting sub 2.0 60' times will be definitely attainable, as long as one can hook up! :)

Take it easy! :driving:

1 7/8 full Kooks system and Powerbond underdive pulley will go on at same time as the converter. Intake and TB porting also coming soon along with dyno tune update by Vector.

Yea, unfortunately I think hooking up is going to be a rather large problem until I get some better tires at least.

Yeah all the power in the world with no hook is no good.
DR's and a stall(auto) or clutch (manual) are great early mods.
Also suspension mods rock too... If I had the $$ I'd get a pedders strip pakage for the goat

Aussie's run a 17" DR , these tire will be a surely needed with a 2800-3200 stall.

DR's or slicks? Blow the tires off or break an axle? tough choice:driving: :D
