: Starting a PNWG8 Club?
MissNaySimon 08-22-2008, 11:53 PM I was invited by a few guys over at LSXNation.net to join their car club. I'm wondering.. Why don't we start a Pacific Northwest G8 gang of our own?
.. or are you guys too old for that sort of tomfoolery? :P

I was kind of looking at that myself, but thought getting together as a group first might be the way to go. Talking about it and doing it are two different things. I would love to do something car oriented, and the G8 seems like a good natural draw, especially since we would all be founding members of a club sure to grown. Bring any ideas you have with you on the 30th in Renton. Get there at 11am and we can sit around and knock around ideas as the day goes on! By the way, isn't the LSXNation about engines? and all kinds of cars that use the LS engine variations? Not as select a group as a G8 club would be I would think?
BBBBGXP 08-23-2008, 12:47 AM By the way, I used Puget Sound/Western Washington G8 Owners as a kind of lead for a club, PS/WW G8 Owners Club?
MissNaySimon 08-23-2008, 01:45 AM That's what I was thinking. LSX is all about the engines, yes. I was thinking of getting cards to handout to other G8s we see, promotional shirts and I'd even put a side window decal on my car. [if it was small..]
Let's see where this goes.
DHMOTORSPORTS08 09-17-2008, 03:42 AM A G8 club wouldnt be a bad thing. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up or anymore updates on starting a club.
MissNaySimon 09-21-2008, 12:02 AM I would love to get this thing really going. I don't know how many of you are up for putting decals on your windows, but my husband is killer at designing them! I'd be more than happy to get something together once he gets back.
BBBBGXP 09-21-2008, 12:14 AM I be one!:wink2:
DHMOTORSPORTS08 09-23-2008, 01:25 AM I'll take one.
ExpLiciTSainT 09-23-2008, 03:25 PM I might be interested
MissNaySimon 09-26-2008, 03:49 AM Awesome. I'll get him designing one when he gets back in about two weeks. That'll be a pleasant surprise.

Ya know, you had talked about a "small" side window decal? I wonder how a larger, long and low (like the G8) decal in the back window would go over? Not too busy, just enough to draw attention, and easily identified as to being G8 club!?!? Wada ya think?
steel4ug8gt 09-27-2008, 10:30 PM I'm in for a club, lets do it, the car is still new enough many have not even seen one, I took the GM off the sides and the Pontiac Name off the back and the Arrow head on the rear, it looks sweet and cars going by are always trying to figure out what it is, until they see the front, most figure it out then
BBBBGXP 09-27-2008, 11:23 PM Steel you saw that the next meet (our second) is Sunday, October 19th at the Tacoma Mall? Where in the PNW do you live? We are looking to get owners from all over the Puget Sound area, and then expand our club from there. We welcome G8 owners from all over the PNW but since nothing is formally organized yet, we don't expect to reach out too far. First meeting was only three of us, one of which, Carlos, is a Navy enlisted now temporarily stationed in Iraq. We also had a fourth at the first meeting, Scott, who was a wannabe, but now is a proud G8 owner, who, unfortunately, will be on a hunting trip the weekend of the 19th. If we get all the G8 owners to show that have said they would, we will have the largest gathering of G8s NATIONWIDE to date! Look forward to meeting you and checking out your G8!:wink2:
steel4ug8gt 09-28-2008, 03:05 PM I will do everything to be there on the 19th, it sounds fun, I should have my new Magnaflow cat back on by then, they were out of stainless ends when I ordered it, I also am looking into CAI, and wanting to get that going, I live in La Center, just about 1.5 hours from Tacoma, not bad, I love to drive the G8, I have been a Pontiac Guy since 1979, I have been through many GTO's and this car is awesome, I love the room, the power. Pather Black, GT, Sport Package. tint all the way around. The badges deleted is an awsome look, see you then.
BBBBGXP 09-28-2008, 08:31 PM This (maybe) wannabe might have to show up with my GTO to an event sometime. I need to check out the G8s a little better before I decide if it is the right car to add to my small GM fleet.
Greg~ Cmon down! We'll convert you to the best sedan pound for pound, dollar for dollar on the market today! See you the 19th!:wink2:
MissNaySimon 09-28-2008, 09:27 PM I will definitely be there. The G8 is getting a good shine here this weekend when I finally have some time off. My husband got extended yet AGAIN, so he won't be home until a few days after the meet. Bring cameras so we can get lots of pictures.
I will probably have Brenden design two decals. A long flat one for the back window, and small side window decals for those who prefer them. Look for design ideas mid-end of October.

Sounds good! Except the part about Brenden getting extended. I sent you a PM about the ball caps. Maybe we'll have all kinds of "stuff" to get the club thing going!:biggrin2:

Thanks for the warm welcome. However, I won't be able to make the 19th, so I'll have to hit up the next one.
Silvereagle 10-08-2008, 12:22 PM Too bad I'm far away from everything here in MT.
BBBBGXP 10-08-2008, 12:37 PM So make it a long weekend! Just did one of those, Saturday thru Monday. Was great, nobody around by Sunday afternoon, and left to go home after all the rush hour traffic was over! Very relaxing and open roads everywhere! Come on down!:pir_flag:
fcsuper 10-24-2008, 06:33 PM Has a list been started for NorCal members? :)
I think it would be fun to get a few of these together and cruise the hot spots in San Jose, Pennisula and SF (maybe on the same day cruising 101 and/or El Camino!) to get the word out about this beast. [I discovered the G8 by accident at a GMC/Buick dealership...didn't even know it existed.]

We're still trying to get the word out to the G8 Owners in this area (Pacific NorthWest), but you feel free to get something started in the San Francisco/NorCal areas. We could maybe have a joint get together in a central location and see what we can draw for attendance?!?! It is a great car, and the longer its around the more people will come to realize that. With the gas prices hitting new lows, its popularity should go up accordingly......the buying public has no memory for anything, so less fuel efficient cars and the P/UPs and SUVs will start selling again soon!:wink2:
fcsuper 10-25-2008, 02:00 PM I'm setting up a G8 blog/website. I have plenty of space for special pages for particular chapters if that sounds like something people would be interested in.

Hey, the more the merrier as the saying goes! Let us know where your site is and we'll get a post in when we do a get together!
BobtheMonkee 10-26-2008, 12:36 AM i'm down for a g8 club :)
fcsuper 10-26-2008, 09:16 AM The website will be http://g8.fcsuper.com. I have a blog configured there already, but not quite ready to go "live" yet. I'm looking into setting up some sort of newsletter and perhaps pages dedicated to particular groups in each region (all Pacific for now). Still trying to figure out just how much is needed.
Any suggestions for names for the new site?
If groups would like to run their newsletter through my site, they leaders should contact me.
Also, should we be inclusive of modern GTO's too?
MissNaySimon 10-29-2008, 10:29 AM Brenden and I are working on the design for the NW G8 group. I think we should have a chapter in every state.

Soooo, you guys done getting reacquainted? And you are working on the decal I take it? If we have a get together in November, you have something to show us? Maybe we should form an anchor chapter of the G8 Club in the PNW and then see if we can spread it from there? Oh, the ballcaps are in the revision stage, I should get the latest version this week.:pir_flag:
JAWDRPNG8 11-12-2008, 02:14 AM Jawdrpng8 In Cali..will Be Driving Up 5 Through Or And Wa ...almost To Canada...probally This Weekend....gas Is So Low...id Radther Drive Than Fly..

BobtheMonkee 11-12-2008, 08:36 AM sunday after noon a bunch of us are meeting at the Tacoma Mall, you should definitely stop and say hi! Tacoma Mall is RIGHT off of 5 too, so you wont even be going out of your way. Also, i recommend checking out pikes place market in Seattle if you have never been there...awesome fish!!!
fcsuper 11-12-2008, 10:15 AM Ok, for NorCal, we can start a list. I'm kinda out of the loop right now, but I do have webspace I'm willing to provide. I can start a splash page for now, though I don't have a email list of anyone compiled. If you are interested, PM with your email and I'll start up a mailing list. Also, if you are in the know, PM so I can get the latest info on GTG and such for the splash page. If enough interest groups, we can grow it into a newsletter or sumfin.
