Funny you should ask. I name my servers after star ships. For some reason I am thinking "enterprise" for this one because we are boldly going where no man has before .... ;) The other names usually deal with ships that are very powerful and destructive.

True. I'm glad I got up to 60 in the first couple days before DY pulled the Lounge post count. Nice little boost.

Well oddly enough - the database server could probably handle a few boards the size of LS1GTO.com (1.5GB DB). The GTO webserver has been in service for 3 years now. It's not the quickest thing out there and heavy php usage and vBulletin features really pound it.

It will take me 2-3 months to plan, build, and test out a new server. The upgrade will be seamless as we are only relocating the static web pages to a new location.

Now, I know I could optimize the heck out of the GTO board but I really do not want to take away features. I have always tried to go overboard with hardware specs. Which is why the DB server barely passes idle during peak load.

But I am always keeping in mind that I might have to scale a site to more than one webserver some day.

Well, I know we all appreciate the great job you do here, and all the time and effort you put into this. Thanks man. If you're ever in Tampa, I'll buy you a couple. :drink: :drink:
