i was driving around today and was stopped at a light and didnt notice a 2000 f150 lightning pull up behind me, i take off from the light because the lane ends and i gotta get over, anywyas i hear that unmistakeable whine of the supercharger behind me, who would win between a stock lightning and my basically stock gt?

From www.zeroto60times.com

2000 Ford F150 SVT Lightning 0-60 mph 5.4 Quarter mile 13.8. The older models are much slower.

2008 Pontiac G8 GT 0-60 mph 5.1 Quarter mile 13.6

Stock to stock it would be close, but they tinker with those the same as we tinker with ours.

I think it would be a very close race. The lightning weighs in at around 4700 pounds, which is good amount over the G8, but the lightning also has 80 lb/ft more torque. Horsepower is a wash. I think you would take em.

id say you could take him.when i had my viper truck we ran stock for stock and from a 35 roll he got me bc of the amount of tourqe the supercharger puts out but off the line i got him by a truck. id say stock for stock g8 vs lightning the g8 would pull due to lighter but better weight since his bed is light and he would spin a lot more before you would.

I think it will be close but there are not many (stock) lightnings left out there. Most of those guys change pulleys or the actual supercharger itself. My ex brother-in-law had the fastest one I ever seen with my own eyes. I don't remember the the best time he ran but I do know that he broke into the lower 7's with it. 850 to the rear tires. No lie saw the dyno sheet myself. he had a kenny bell sittin on top of it. It also had head work and bottom work done to it as well. He had a diablo program on it and drove it all the time. So be careful. Those trucks can hurt your feelings.

One of my old customers has an 03 Lightning that hurt my feelings.:whine: I didn't lose bad, but I still felt like ******. I think it would be close race. Good luck.

I saw a dropped one on the highway today, definitely modified, but he didn't wanna go.

It's already been said, most are highly modded. My neighbor has 2 and he has about 4 or 5 buddies with lightening's that come over regularly and they are all extremely modded. Every one.

As everyone said, that's one truck I'd have a VERY hard time believing isn't modded. A) they've been out for quite a while and if you had one on your hands the temptation is too great, B) its relatively cheap and easy to make the first big gains w/ them since they're supercharged, C) I've never seen a stock one in person and I've seen a few.

Everytime I hear or think of one of those SRT-10 trucks:

I love how the guy keeps recording after the truck wipes LOL! Wouldn't most people have dropped the camera to go and tend to their friend ASAP? Beside the point, I know, I know...

Well said. My brother has a 2003 with Kooks, pulley and tune, runs mid 12's all day. Finding a stock one is more rare than my stock Hayabusa.
Beware!!! But to answer your question you are safe. He will get you from the dig but you will shortly get him.

I think you should have him. I got slaughtered by one a couple years ago but I was in my dakota.
