Well boys and girls, it was time for Tigger to make the 378 mile drive back to New Era Performance, in Rochester, NY. This time was for the Non-DOD 228/240 Cam. My wife and I picked up a V6 Ford Mustang rental from Hertz and headed to the shop where we found a couple of Mikes mechanics waiting for our arrival. They pulled the car in at about 10:00 and started tearing him down about 11. After chatting with Mike and the fellas for a bit the wife and I headed for Niagra Falls (about an hour and 15 minutes away). At 4pm I checked with the shop for an update and found the cam was already installed, we were well on track. I told them to expect me around noon so I could be there for the street tuning, and dyno. With perfect timing the Mobile 1 we needed, the Kooks Mufflers from Maryland Speed and the pizza I ordered for all of us arrived. After changing the oil, installing the Kooks mufflers, and checking and adding 4qts of tranny fluid, (to the 12 qt tranny), we were ready for Mike to begin the street tuning. That accomplished, we went onto the dyno. Mike who owns Matilda showed up and we began guessing numbers for the dyno run. Run after run got better and better but the heat and humidity was killing us yet again. So we decided to stop for the day, put some break in miles on the cam and start fresh in the morning. The next morning found us not much cooler, 86 degrees and 31% humidity but we broke into the 400's! We took it and ran! :) What can I say about these guys?! Mike, Justin, Nick, Shawn, and Adam are a great bunch of very good mechanics with a wealth of knowledge. They stayed late for me, even coming in on their day off to get us down the road. The care they take with my car, and quality of their work speaks volumes for the shop. I will never think twice about taking the drive to Rochester to have them work on my car.

As for the driving characteristics, it runs like a raped ape. About a 2 MPG loss all the way around from stock. I took a buddy for a ride today and all he could keep saying was "Damn!" It took him back to his big block days. He couldn't believe the g's pushing him into the seat.

Get that thing to the track asap man. How much did the whole setup cost you at the end of the day?
