So, I'm doing some running around today seeing some buddies and showing them the fine work Mike and his crew at New Era Performance did for me. I leave to head out to the next stop and what is in my mirror, but a Challenger SRT.(Vanity plate says 425HP, not that I care...I'm about 480 at the crank now lol) He follows me through the next town and we get onto the by-way where he does a running start pass on me.....No problem. I hit the throttle and stayed right with him. After getting the **** scared out of ourselves by a Park Ranger (Lol!) we settle down untill the e-way. Once again he floors it and I stay right with him up to 125 before we came up on to much traffic to play, let alone get side by side. He gets off on his exit and we give each other a big thumbs up.....but you know he's mad lol. Not me....I'm happier than a pig in ****. I'm thinking about having a Dodge Ram symbol made with a bullet through it's head for each kill I get on a Dodge.....The back of my car will look like a football helmet in no time, because they can talk all the **** they want but I've got something for those over-priced, over-weight, over-hyped sleds

With those mods youll be a frickin all american, fun stuff. Prolly one of the first kills on that overpriced brick.

Ok...I guess I have to draw a picture.....2 lane highway, traffic in right lane, Challenger and I in fast lane......I don't have a lane to pass....Then we came into heavy traffic in both lanes before he had to exit.....Get it? He's a local car to me, I'm sure I'll get another chance.

Do you run 13.3 at 105 with the headers and cam and all your other bolt ons? And im assuming its 403whp and 381 wtq?

No the 13.3 was before the cam. Milan Dragway has their Test and Tune on Wed. and I'll be there right at 4 when they open to see where i'm at. Hopefully it stays in the mid-70's like today. I'm looking for 12.7 and hoping for 12.5. Yes the 403 and 381 is to the rear wheels.

I hope so.....Specially once I have my torque convertor and drag radials........Life w/out any challenges gets pretty boring. Because if those are your HP numbers and you're trapping the same speed as I am (116), I would hate to see the look on your face getting beat by a car with 100 less HP. ;)

It's going to be so hard for me to not mod the G8 while modding the GTO and saving $$$$ for my next purchase. So much potential in the G8.

I know. It's such an easy car to quickly build up, and w/out as much investment as some cars. Not to mention the looks on peoples faces when they see the results.

Well I have yet to run into a G8 at the track so I have no reference as to your trap speeds. I am sure eventually I will. One thing though I make it a habit of never underestimating whoever pulls alongside so if you say you do you get my thumbs up.

But until then it looks like your still a full sec behind. Hmm I also have 11 sec runs low as ET @ 112 and others as high as @ 120 so does that mean your just as fast? But thats not a big thing either as I am sure you will continue to work on improving your times which in the end makes it all fun.

Psst I will let you in on a secret I am not fond of Challengers either...

Don't get me wrong. I have respect for the Mopars and what they can do, it's just the majority of the owners around me think they're all that. Sort of like 4.6L Mustang GT owners, that have no idea how they're "not that fast" lol. Let them climb in a 5.0 and find the real Mustang. It's a fight for us to get the respect the G8 deserves. We are not just a 4dr family car ;) Nor should we be compared to Grand Prixs, Bonnevilles, etc., we are a completely new beast, here to make our mark! :)

That's good stuff, next time show'em what 480 at the crank looks like when he's looking at your ass! LoL I destroyed a new challenger SRT (orange) one of the first ones deliverd here in phoenix, az about 6 weeks ago in my 3700 lb 2006 GTO M6, 80k miles. 400 rwhp and 390 rwtq all bolt-ons, no cams heads,no ported anything. My 12.5 at 112 to his 13.7 at 105. The following week I bought a new 2008.5 Cobalt SS turbo. 260 hp\260 tq crank 2950 lbs went back to the track and guess who I got stuck lining up with!!! Mr SRT challenger! And with a simple air filter up grade and muffler I gained 2.5 psi of boost and about 15 hp. I Ran 13.45 @ 106.77 mph to the Callenger SRT's 13.66 @ 104.98. Had nearly a car on him at the finish, however he took me by that same car length out of the hole as I've not any traction in first gear. He was so pissed to get beat by a little chevy with a direct injected (25mpg city) 2.0L German 4-cyl. The look on his face was PRICELESS!!. Fast forward several weeks, now his SRT Challenger is on the mitsubshi used lot for $54k. I confirmed it was his when I inquired about the SRTwith a salesman. Damn, that beating hurt him bad, LMFAO so hard I've tears pouring down my face.

I'm just waiting for the GXP. Sunbelt\western states will get'em in late Dec-Feb and the rest of the USA delivery will be in the spring 2009.

I think he probably likes his classic styled, higher content, quicker (stock for stock and mod for mod), SRT Track Experience and monthly chat session car more than yours and didn't mind paying more for it.

No, he did not have headers and I don't think he had exhaust but I did not think that a Cat back did too much for SRTs but sound anyway. I still have my stock mufflers on.

1st - G8 12.710 @107.99 w/1.911 60' (I let the car shift to 4th)
SRT 12.717 @109.09 w/1.922 60'
2nd - G8 12.667 @109.78 w/1.955 60'
SRT 12.780 @109.33 w/1.942 60'
3rd - G8 12.605 @109.80 w/1.901 60'
SRT 12.665 @110.16 w/1.917 60'

Yep I had high hopes too as I was planning on tyring to hit one of them and was working on getting my dad to let me run his new ZR1. It is kind of funny they both cancelled since it is not any colder than the day I ran out at VMP.
