Gentlemen,

I have been lurking on the list for awhile and researching the 07 CTS-V and the G8 GXP.

Anyone have opinions on which to buy? (I know I am on a G8 list but I know you kids can be objective) I currently drive a BMW M3/4 (E36) and have thought about going to one of these cars but I wanted to get the lists opinion.

I don't have the dough for the new CTS-V (nor do I want a superchager) and that also means I don't have it for a new M3 v8 sedan so it is between these 2...

Let the s**t fly...:drink:

Not sure if you have seen this thread.

It was a discussion on the comparison of the V with the G8 GT. I think the GXP will be the better all around car over the last gen CTS-V without much problem.

The GXP vs. Old GEN CTS-V is an easy call. Go with the GXP. Similar handling and power, and fewer quirks than the CTS-V (differential failure, oddball electrical glitches).

i owned a ctsv 05, thrown a half shaft racing. i would go with the g8 gxp all day. Its a btter build then that 07 ctsv. actually its got the ctsv tranny also which is a great call i never had any probelm with that tranny it rocks.i like the setup of the g8 gxp to being an all around good car.

I would go for the gxp for the same reasons mentioned above concerning reliability. However if you can swing it (most of us cant) I vote for an 08 cts-v :)

The G8 is also a bigger car - closer to a STS-V. No 08 CTS-V, belo, sorry, the best in 08 is the DI V6. And since the 09 V is not on the lots yet it does not qualify for current employee prices.

Doesnt the 07 CTS V have the T56? The GXP gets the TR6060

Oh yeah my bad. I couldn't remember if the new V came out in 08 or 09. Regardless, it was more of a statement, not an actual recommendation.
