orbital1970goat 02-07-2007, 01:39 PM would anyone get confused with the Porsche Cayman? (a cayman is a crocodile) :monkee:
I was actually thinking crocodile would be more appropriate with it being from OZ. I say the "CROC"'

chiefpontiac 11-01-2007, 07:57 AM I still kinda like Gator, but what about Kangaroo or something to show where it is from? Gator makes me think of Flordia
KNow what they call a tour bus that delivers fans to Florida away games?
A Gator Gitter. Seriously.
TheIncredibleBulk 11-01-2007, 12:47 PM KNow what they call a tour bus that delivers fans to Florida away games?
A Gator Gitter. Seriously.
This is why, as a Florida State Seminole Fan, I must object to naming it a GAYtor. I do not want to drive the very thing I hate in college sports. It just goes against every thing that is just and right in my view of the world. However, as I am totally un-creative, at least in making names for things, I will silently object naming the awesomely awesome G8 such a lowly and despicible thing as those losers from the university of florida. :barf:
lol.
HUMBLER 11-01-2007, 01:02 PM Not a good nickname but mine will say FMLYGOT!
Smoke 11-01-2007, 01:59 PM Not a good nickname but mine will say FMLYGOT!
Your family got what?
Rob@WretchedMS 11-01-2007, 03:44 PM your all going about it wrong, it's not a G8 (G ate) it's the G8 (G oit) just ask any Australian. lol

I just spit coffee all over my monitor.
chiefpontiac 11-01-2007, 10:46 PM Well if the "hot" goat was da Judge, can we call a G8GXP da Jury?
"here come da Jury" just does not have that same Flip Wilson ring to it.
Your family got what?
I think he is meaning family goat......FMLYGOT
chill 11-02-2007, 11:54 AM Goiter? eh...
hahaha...
chrish
TriShield 11-03-2007, 11:54 AM I'm not down with nicknames. Goat for the GTO is about as bad as it gets.

How about NO!
4 DOOR GTO!!!
B/c thats essentially what it is.
HORTENSE 11-14-2007, 12:35 AM i think i'll be referring to them as VE's
HUMBLER 11-15-2007, 08:40 AM I think he is meaning family goat......FMLYGOT
You would be correct sir, I was thinking about putting FMLYVET on my GTO or TBSS but FMLYGOT seems much more appropriate on the G8.
Sun Dog 11-21-2007, 09:37 PM The Dingo G8 my baby.
BWinc 11-22-2007, 08:37 AM The "Galloping G8"? No. To close to that pony car.
mang01 11-29-2007, 12:41 AM How about "g'day't".. except of course Americans can't pronounce "G'day". (To tell the truth I had to be taught how to too, and I was born in Elizabeth within sight of the Holden factory..)
I think its already a done deal Mango1..............Gator
Sun Dog......you thought that one up all on your own?............:err:
Scryer_360 12-02-2007, 12:40 PM Gator sounds a little too, ermmm..... hillbillyish? Remember, we're trying to get this car to sell outside the rural areas of America, and while in Australia you may call it whatever you like (Gator has my vote there), we need something that pushes the G8 as a new age for General Motors in America, not a revival. Because when you think about it, whats the under 40 crowd in America going to think about if the car is a revival of anything GM has done?
A 1981 Cadillac Cimmaron. Do we really need that car fresh on everyone's mind? No.
So lets clip the idea of calling it the Grand Prix in the shins and also try and avoid Gator. Besides, Florida isn't doing to well in the BCS this year, so calling it that might be a bad idea anyway:whine:.
I also think something thats not a play on the name would be good too.
With that said, I'm not the most original person in the world, so let the debate recommence:attachment:.
BWinc 12-03-2007, 07:43 PM IMO, the car should have been call Tempest, so I'll throw in Tempest's G8 (gate)
GregKJ 12-05-2007, 01:56 AM I'm not a big fan of Gator, but I can't think of anything better that goes along with the name.
My wife has been calling it the "Gate" just to piss me off.
pinski 12-05-2007, 10:23 AM Might as well just call it the G-spot.
mayems 12-07-2007, 04:51 PM Urg8rb8
archerm3 12-10-2007, 09:43 PM When i get my ST i'm just gonna call her a ute.
G8? I like G spot or Ocho..
Sun Dog 12-29-2007, 11:47 PM Sun Dog......you thought that one up all on your own?............:err:
Well, they're not all golden ya know.
How about the Pontiac Fahrenheit, just enough German to scare the French.
I think G8, is about as short as you can get. I would say just plain "G" would be good, but the infinity guys have that one. How about "The 8"?
sccaGTO 01-01-2008, 12:34 PM When i get my ST i'm just gonna call her a ute.
G8? I like G spot or Ocho..
At this time, I'm looking to wait for the ST. Are you planning to import some "UTE" badges when you get one? I'd love for it to have a real name instead of alphabet soup.
Fatty R8 01-02-2008, 08:35 AM You'll probably think I'm lame putting this in, but if I ever buy a Holden VE Commodore/Pontiac G8 in it's SS trim level (or a HSV GTS), I'd call it "Fatty". But if a bullbar was fitted onto these cars I'd call it a Warthog (but who puts bullbars on these cars anyway?)
Earlier today, I had a discussion about the car with a few of my co-workers saying how the new Commies look chunky/chubby/fatty. I still want one though...

Probably not. Keeping it original methinks. But my vanity plate: see my avatar.
sccaGTO 01-05-2008, 12:11 AM Depending on how many letters your state allows, I have 2 ideas for plates. "Haulsass" or "Halsass". Although, most will decline them since we spelled out a swear word (as if any DMV would approve it :err:)
Chameleon 01-13-2008, 07:20 AM How about we just call it beautiful and be happy with it :D
KCJones 01-13-2008, 08:37 PM "G spots", catchy but hard to use in conversation.
Nobody outside the club is gonna understand VE, unless we toss it in with the G and the 8.
vegitate? right. vee-gate? right.
I suspect Gator will stick.

My plate would be LTRG8R

I don't think there are any badges that say "Ute"; it's always been self evident from any view except dead front on that it's a ute.
There was a early 70's Holden ute concept called "Ewe't", I have a picture which I will post as soon as I find it.. but I doubt it had anything other than sticker type badges!
