what projection style will this car have? and what options could we have that will change it into hid's? ive never done any ballast work or lighting work, so i was curious what would be a good route to go for changing them? what hid conversion kits could we use? would ebay hid kits work? just some questions ;)

thanks in advance

The projectors on the G8 are 9006, so if you want real HID's you can just buy adapters to fit OEM DS2 bulbs in the projectors and buy an OEM ballast set. This whole setup can be bought for less than $300

Its not hard at all. You can also buy a relay harness on ebay that will fit the factory sockets so they come on/off with the light switch.

can u wire them up where its like a DRL is set up to run when the car is on, and to not have the other lights on except when you want? sorry for the stupid q's but ive never ventured into the electrical parts very much :/

It would run just like stock. The wiring harness is only there so you dont short out the factory harness since they are not made to handle the high voltage that HID's use on start up. But the G8 will have an automatic setting so you can just set them to automatic and they would come on in low light situations. Not sure if that answers your question.

If you want the HID look, you have the option of buying a conversion kit from me :) The kit will fit the stock housing, so no modifying of the headlight, and you can pick 35w or 55w kit, it comes with everything you need. The kit functions like your normal lights would, so once installed, you won't know any different except for the drastic increase in light output. The only change needed is a hole drilled in the back of the dust cap to fit the wires, but the kit comes with a rubber grommet to help seal the hole. You can check out my website (see my signature) for a look at the kit.

If you want to maintain the DRL look, you would need an accessory harness, like g8g mentioned. There is one specifically designed to work with the kits I sell that allows power to be drawn directly from the battery and uses the stock headlight socket to power a relay. So when you turn on your headlights (or have the DRLs running) power goes through the stock harness to the accessory harness and switches on the relay. The power is then drawn from the battery and supplied directly to the HID kit. Without the accessory harness, you will want to disable the DRLs as the DRL power signal is too small to roerply ignite the kit, you'll end up damaging it. This is all based on knowledge of the GTO system I assume Pontiac will keep it similar.
