Where do you see the fuel used at in the trip computer? I know it is in the engineering mode, but what about the trip computer on the DIC?

Just keep hitting the button on the left with the road picture to change the DIC display.

I can get to the trip computer. I'm looking for a way to see fuel used or remaing without going into engineering mode.

I don't think you can.

I wouldn't trust it anyway. I ran the car down about as far as I dared - down to 1 gal showing in engineering mode. When I went to the gas station (after running several miles at "1 gal") it only took 16.3 gallons. That's 3 gallons under what the owner's manual says for the fuel tank.

the trip computer doesn't give you exact gallons/liters remaining (except in eng. mode) because it wouldn't be able to accurately predict this - especially when the tank is low.

This info is displayed in some cars (i think older Holdens tried to do this) but they found many people ended up running out of fuel because the readout wasn't accurate enough.. i think it was a conscious decision to emit this info..

just imagine half a gallon of fuel slushing around in the bottom of your fuel tank as you accelerate and brake - no car could accurately measure this
