: Jeremy Formato porting
wreckwriter 09-05-2008, 07:16 PM Today I had the pleasure of meeting Jeremy Formato from fasterproms . He installed a ported intake manifold and throttle body on my G8. Jeremy is a really nice guy, did great work and didn't mind me hovering over him and asking questions while he did the job. This guy has a tremendous amount of LS knowledge and experience and doesn't mind sharing it.
I was given the opportunity to compare my stock manifold and TB with the pre-ported ones and the difference is much greater than I expected. Jeremy removes a lot of material from both and the finished product looks and works absolutely kick-ass.
As for performance, I noticed 2 things right off; throttle response is improved and, unexpectedly, my idle has smoothed out considerably. Hard to tell how much difference in WOT operation, will need to do a few timed runs but I expect this is going to really add to my overall performance in general when combined with the coming mods.
Jeremy normally does a tune after installing these but since I have a Vector tune which will be updated soon we skipped that. The cost for the porting and install was $400.
All in all I'm very pleased. It was great meeting Jeremy and, in my opinion, his product is top-notch. I highly recommend him.
Norm8332 09-05-2008, 07:44 PM Sounds great. Hear this South Floridians?

Normally Lutz, near St. Pete. He comes down occasionally to South Fl. Right now he's at Speed and Truck World in Coral Springs thru tomorrow.

Not unless you look inside. If you were to look down the throat you could easily tell. From the outside, no way.
american muscle 09-14-2008, 10:27 AM what kind of gains are you guys getting from his tunes....

Didnt get the dyno tune just got a street tune from him. The dyno tune comes the next time i happen to be in Tampa which is once a month normally. zosoboggie got 41 or 43 HP when he dyno tuned his setup. I definately gained from his street tuned just not sure the exact numbers. i can tell you my 0-60mph went from 4.92 to 4.55 with his tune and i still have not gotten exhaust.
american muscle 09-14-2008, 02:57 PM alright thanks for the info!!
american muscle 09-15-2008, 05:55 PM Just a little info for anyone in the tampa area.....This guy is great. I stopped in for my tune about an hour ago and left completely astounded. Jeremy took so much time explaining to me about the car and showed me step by step what he was doing with the tune. After he finished we went and drove the car a solid 20 minutes and he made sure everything was perfect. Ill will def be going back real soon....
the_marquis78 09-15-2008, 07:03 PM so what about us not in the FL region? Are we SOL or is there a solution for someone in Utah?
GRRRR8 09-15-2008, 07:13 PM I am also using them for the throttle body and intake porting with the new combo.
Blackdevil77 09-15-2008, 07:46 PM Damn it! I'm in New York! Why must all the best guys be so far away from me?

Me too. Tom, did you get any dyno numbers on yours with the new intake?

Just the total, no sequential numbers for individual mods.
368.9 RWHP - 362.7 RWTQ
G8 Ray 09-15-2008, 08:39 PM Sweet azz numbers man.
wreckwriter 09-15-2008, 08:41 PM Sweet azz numbers man.
Once I get this little miss tracked down I'm gonna be fairly fast.
wreckwriter 09-15-2008, 08:44 PM btw- as far as I know Jeremy will do core exchange also so as long as you're able to swap out the parts distance is no object.
the_marquis78 09-16-2008, 01:12 PM as long as you're able? Meaning as long as I can remove the parts and put em back in? um...that might be beyond my expertise. Anyone know how difficult that is? Would I need to send him mine and then wait for mine to be modded or does he have cores?
GRRRR8 09-16-2008, 01:37 PM Yes you send him yours to be ported unless he is getting cores now. Throttle body 5-7 minutes, intake 30-40 minutes max. I have had both off for measuring in less then 20min.
wreckwriter 09-16-2008, 01:40 PM He had cores for me. I suggest contacting him and see if he currently does. My guess is that if there's enough interest he'll get some.

Wow for some reason I thought it would be more. that's not too bad at all then. Thanks for the info :)
GRRRR8 09-16-2008, 05:03 PM No problem. The plastic intakes in general are much faster to remove then the old school intakes.
BSmith 09-18-2008, 10:15 AM No gasket scraping, easy to get to bolts... yeah, can't ask for much more than that!
