: Woodward G8
Keith66 02-06-2007, 10:18 PM Anybody else notice how the shape of the grills and how they rise into the hood are nearly identical to the Woodward GTO?
I'm hoping it makes it into production like it is now, but maybe the reason they didn't carry it over from the concept GTO to production GTO (could have added complexity to manufacturing) is the same reason it may happen to the G8. Just a thought.
PMD G8 02-06-2007, 10:29 PM I'm willing to bet that the hood scoops don't make it to production, especially on the v6 models. But thats just a guess.
I am not sure I am sold on the scoops. They look kind of weird imho with out humps like the WS6 AT. It just looks like 2 holes in the hood.
I will have to see it in person.
Gerbonium 02-06-2007, 11:20 PM im not sure about the scoops as well. i would also like to see the kidney grilles be a tad bit shorter (they just seem a bit too big to me)
on the woodward gto... its always interesting to look back on concepts from a few years back and see what has mad it to production, especially on different cars altogether.
sccaGTO 02-06-2007, 11:24 PM I like it just the way it is. If the wheels have to go, so be it. But, I gotta have that hood.

You should see the G6 GXP. It's a friggin' beaver.

And to think. Pontiac thinks that looks like a good race car.
GT086 02-07-2007, 12:47 AM I can definitely see the influence the Woodward GTO had on the G8. I think the hood is good looking too.

I hope the scoops don't make it to production - they look out of place on the hood IMHO. It would be okay if they reappear on the GXP model, which would be the most sporting, but they don't really have a place on the more mainstream versions G8 and G8 GT.
I like it just the way it is. If the wheels have to go, so be it. But, I gotta have that hood.
I prefer the wheels on some of the "lesser" Holdens to those found on the G8.

that beaver is the nastiest thing ever.....worse than the asstek

ya i though that was pretty hideous
LS1=SEG 02-07-2007, 09:11 AM It would be fine if they shorten the grilles, and connect the lower grilles.
HORTENSE 02-07-2007, 09:37 AM i like the grills, and even though pontiac's thing is the honey-comb wasp hive pattern, i'd rather see that micro grille texture like on the RA6(?) GTO
Drachen 02-07-2007, 12:11 PM More subtle hoodscoops on the GT and the GXP (or maybe just the GXP)
No hoodscoops on the V6 I'd guess.
Mike P 02-07-2007, 01:42 PM Can anyone do a photoshop with a smooth hood / bonnet, with no hood sccops. I think it would be a nice clean look.???

NOTHING is worse than the Aztek. NOTHING.
AlphaEden 02-07-2007, 03:04 PM The aztec wasn't a bad ride... to beat on

I've been looking at the wheel choices. The only design that I like is the wheels from the Caprice. I don't like the fact that they are 20". I'll probably find some 18" or 19" wheels for it.
speeddemon 02-07-2007, 06:36 PM I wonder what wheel we will get stock :secret:
mikmak 02-07-2007, 07:06 PM In wheels car of the year testing, the HSV GTS (from which the G8 show car wheels originated) got 3 punctures (two from potholes). I would prefer to replace tyres when they run out of rubber, rather than when they run out of air.

No there's worse but not many.

And you know rubber like that isnt going to come cheap.
