Well got to the track last night for test and tune, here are my times.
Made a coupe of test runs
14.35 at 92, shut off at 1000' 2.24 60 ft stock air pressure
14.23 at 98, spun pretty hard 2.18 60 ft stock air pressure
13.96 at 99.98 2.15 60 ft 38 lbs in front 33 in rear
13.87 at 99.80 2.15 60 ft same 15 min cool down
13.87 at 99.89 2.13 60 ft 30 lbs rear 15 min cool down
13.82 at 101.24 2.11 60 ft same 30 min cool down
13.82 at 100.27 2.14 60 ft same 30 min cool down.
13.96 at 99 2.15 same no cool down.
I ran the last run back to back after the 13.82, didn't run quite as good, but, had to get back on the road to come home. I was pretty happy with the runs, thought I could get it into the 13.60's, but, spun the tires too much. I might go back next Friday and put the stock wheels and tires back on, these are about 10 lbs heavier then stock. Elevation was about 1380 ft. It was in the 70's, but, the dew was getting pretty heavy and fairly humid. You can see from above that an extra 15 mins. cool down was good valuable for about 5 hundreds of a second. This car is almost exactly 4 seconds slower then my 68 nova that ran 9.70's at 136. Not gonna get there.

Not bad at all. Your just about right where I am at when I took my car out for the first time.

Stock I'm assuming?

Intake and h pipe. I think I was trying to bring it out to hard. I should have tried off idle launches also. Still for the elevation, I'm fairly happy. Plenty of guys who haven't gotten theres out of the 14's. It was definetly spinning the tires too much.

My goal is to get it just to run low 13's. I'm hoping to have Mike tune it at Memphis.

Missed the elevation listed in your post. If you could knock that 60' down to a 2.0 you will be in the mid 13's. Were you trapping in third or fourth?

I made the mistake when I took my car out stock (13.83) that I allowed the shift to 4th. I am fortunate to have tracks in my area with a near sea level elevation. Can't wait to see what it does with just a tune or with an intake as well depending on time.

I ran a gto with cam, headers, tune and a bunch of aftermarket stuff. He was running 12.50's, thats when he's pulling away. Then I ran a camaro, I pulled him all the way past the 1/8mile, then he pulled around me I ran 13.82 at 100 and he ran 13.47 at 102, when we crossed the line he was less the 2 cars ahead of me. Thats what less the 4 tenths is. So, when you think about it, you can spend $1000 bucks for headers, tune and you still may only run a couple cars ahead of me and 4 tenths of a second. I know how this works, when I first built my nova, it ran 11.70, then I proceded from there, I wanted to break into the 10's, then I built another motor with 4340 Lunati crank, Manley aluminum rods, light weight hollow dome pistons, aliminum head, sheet metal intake, 700 lift roller cam. You can go on and on, then the 9's, finally it ran 9.70's. I don't think I'll do that with this car, I would like to get it into the 12's, but, beyond that, nope. I'll take what it gives me. I have money now and one of the reasons is that I quit high dollar racing. I'm good to go.

You still have the bug. In two posts you went from low 13's to 12's ... :driving:

Yep, when you've owned and driven a 9 second car, had some pretty bad ass prostreet rides, the bug never leaves you. I've spent a lot of money on this **** and my wife will definetly agree with that. So, I'll make it run fast enough to make me almost happy, I've got to think about retirement again and my money hasn't done that well this year in the market. Still haven fun at 56 and will until the **** hits the fan.

I think you are right, I plan on a tune in Memphis with Mike from Newera, I was running out of time Friday and next time out I'm planning on more runs with the traction control on and I think there is a little more with the stock wheels and tires. I definetly is a combination of a bunch of little things. I'll work on those before next time out which I think will be the 19th of Sept. It should be pretty cooled off by then with lower humidities. I need to knock off a couple more tenths before the tune and Memphis. I'll need to run as low into the 13's to be competetive in true street. I'll be ready.

Traction control on is not going to help you.

It didn't help me on the one pass I made with it on, so, I was just going to try it again, I've seen a few other post that did show their best runs with it on. I'm going to be lowering it this week hopefully and that might help my top end a little with better codrag. Its all a game, I'm gonna play just a little, but, not like in the past.
