I'm torn.. I need a car and have almost talked myself into an automatic when I'd rather have a manual.

Since they seem to be pretty coy about the availability of a manual lately, does anyone here think they will just let that option fade into the sunset?

I really hope but I have been wondering the same thing. For the past year I've been been regreting getting the Auto on my GTO.

Have patentice, it will come, they always said that it would be available after intro, which in automotive terms can mean by summer as the 2009 model.

I hear ya... I don't want to be in the same boat... I guess it's a little different cause I think the auto in this car is going to be real nice... not to mention it's 4 doors.

But I can't for the life of me figure out why the new Malibu has the paddleshift and this car won't.

When I was at SEMA, I asked the Pontiac guy about that. He didn't think it would be too long (several months), but didn't know for sure.

He at least knew I really wanted the MT. :D

If it doesn't come with a manual I won't buy it. I will look at LS2 CTS-V or the Audi S4 instead. I don't mind waiting as long as it does come out.

I guess since i dont know how to drive a manual i dont know the fun and significance of having one.

Haha regardless I wish I woulda read this thread before I snagged a gt! I had no idea about the upcoming GXP at the time.
