We found this on a customers car during a header installation, the fuel trims were pegged positive and it was so large you could actually HEAR it under the hood.

This elbow is located on the PCV line where it attaches to the drivers side valve cover. This one apparently had a crack since day 1!

This would cause poor gas mileage, right?

Chris, what was the fix? Obviously replace the elbow but where did you source the part?

Is yours cracked? I didn't check mine yet.

You could probably use a piece of hose until you got the correct elbow.

dunno yet. Charlie thinks my misses are result of a vacuum leak so it very well may be. Will know in the morning, just trying to be ready in case.

The elbow will probably be part of the plastic tube assm unless they make it serviceable separately.

If jamesbiz ever gets his catch can to market I'll be replacing that whole line with hose anyway so if this thing is cracked I'll just use hose now.

VMS, Charlie, Wreck, George.... can one of you guys take a picture of this problem area (elbow) for the "NOVICE" car owners. I'm sure a pic of this under the hood would help some people in locating this possible issue. Thanks!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I wonder if Chris or anyone else remembers what that elbow attaches to? Is it a nipple type fitting that a piece of fuel line could fit on? If so, plastic or metal? Getting ready to put a can in and want to replace the entire plastic PCV line if possible.

It attaches to the vent at the rear of the drivers side valve cover.

We just replaced it with a piece of silicone hose the same size.
