Yesturday i was driving home when i heard a huge bang and then a tumbling noise coming from What i think was the tranny. now when i start the car or move it it makes a loud sound kind of like when you machine rotors. It started having problems about 3 days ago when sometimes when i start moving it from a stop it waits about 3 seconds then jerks to move. I had the dealership tow it in. I have 2400 miles on the car.

There have been reports of these transmissions being low on fluid by 1 or 2 quarts.

Thanks hopefully that is what caused my problem rather then a major problem with these trannys. They probably will have to replace mine but thanks for letting me know. I will leave a update when i find out what happened. thanks

ABS makes a noise a couple seconds after you pull forward after cold start up. Tranny makes a thud when letting off the gas at the same time tranny is shifting.

These noises are normal, to my understanding, on this car.

Good luck on your tranny and make sure it's updated, or even better, get that VMS tune!

Maybe a gear lost some teeth. Whatever it is, it's under warranty so nothing to worry.

They use this tranny in a lot of vehicles now so it's pretty tried and true!:)

Just talked with the dealership. Transmission mount broke off. They dont know if it caused anymore problems until they get the new one in. They are also having the paint checked out. Mirror paint is very faded and paint on passenger side is flaking off.

A couple weeks ago I had the oil changed in my car and the service guy noticed a leak in the transmission. So I took it to the dealer and they found the leak and of course they told me it would take a couple days to get the part in. Then Hurricane Ike hit (I live in Houston btw). So Monday I finally got in touch with the service department and they told me they still didn't have the part and it would take a couple days to get it in. Well, today they called me and told me while they were putting the part in they noticed my torque converter was all burned up and it may take a while to get a new torque converter in because it's on back order. So I probably won't have my car back for a few weeks. IT SUCKS!!!!!!

in other words they dropped it off the lift and conv.is damaged or it fell in water.

They visually noticed your torque convertor was burned up just by pulling it out ?

Yes....the service guy told me it was "discolored"...whatever that means. But, they ordered a new one and I have my car back.
