: Track Meet late October...Great Lakes Dragaway...Union Grove, WI...
Rocket5979 10-02-2008, 09:27 AM Would anyone be up for a small get together at GLD in Union Grove, Wisconsin? The season will be coming to a close in about 2 months so I figure that maybe we can set a little something up before it ends. The DA's are improving every single day so the ET's should be dropping.
Whether you are a new racer or an seasoned one you will have a good time.
What do you guys think of something around the end of October? Should be nice and cool out but still not unbearable just yet. Who would be in for something like this?

All the days labeled in green are normal racedays. No Sticky Thursdays unless you run slicks.

some DRs
Subframe connectors
Steeda Adjustables
Steeda U/D pullies
and if the bank account allows it Headers and midpipe

Jerry is not a bad tuner. Before I became an SCT custom tuner I had him tune one of my Ford race vehicles.
Shaffe 10-07-2008, 09:06 PM you know the guys at sutton? they pretty good? they sponsored the IMSM Street Heat class this year, thats how i know bout em

I am a much bigger Ford guy then GM guy. The G8 GT is my latest endeavor to enter into the GM market with my business. Yes, I know Jerry, Greg, and Doug at Sutton a little. Not really close friends per se, but we all know of each other and have BS'ed on the phone a time or two.
Shaffe 10-08-2008, 08:05 AM so they pretty good? would you go to them again. i know a few of my fellow mustang racers have had trouble finding a tuner they like, i dont wnat the same problem

Obviously I would not go to them again because I have been an SCT tuner for a few years now. They do a good job though. It is not like you are blown or anything big so it is a piece of cake to tune a mildly modded N/A combo like yours. Make sure that if you are going to get a full tune that you add those mods in that list of yours in before doing so otherwise it will not be worth it.
Shaffe 10-08-2008, 12:59 PM i got ya. and yeah, it all depends on the bank account lol

Until you get many more performance mods besides the CAI I would hold off on getting a full custom tune just yet. While the CAI does change your AFR's (thanks to slot-in MAF) your emailed tune should have been able to dial it back in pretty close. This is because there are literally thousands of S-197 Mustang's running around with the same exact CAI so the after-mod fueling data is pretty well established. The emailed tunes will get pretty accurate when tuning cars that are mildly modded. I email tune people all the time when they have simpler mods such as CAI, exhaust, UDP's and so on so forth. Is it as accurate as a dynotune in person? Nope. But it is close enough that most people cannot justify spending the extra money on a custom dyno tune if they only have a few mods. Obviously when you get more mods then the necessity becomes much more apparent for a custom, in-person dynotune. You may already be fully aware of this. But if not, then maybe by reading this you can save a few bucks. Best of luck and keep having fun with the Mustang.
Shaffe 10-08-2008, 07:59 PM i was full aware of all of that lol. but thanks for looking out
