Nice - however I still feel that they are going to be marketed as 2008 model year cars until fall of 08.

I don't care one way or another as long as I can get one in March when my lease is up. I'm from Michigan - I also hope they don't need to bring one up from the South for me

What did he say at the end? They are primarily targeting this car for southern states?

Or that we would have XM Radio in our G8s, when in reality we are not. : )

Here's my question, He said the G8 will replace the grand prix. Is the G8 going to be a car that's mass produced and all over the roads? What I liked about the GTO was that since it is a sports car, I hardly saw them on the roads. But i see grand prix's everywhere around here. One of my reasonings for this car is I like having a vehicle not everyone would be interested in. This will be a high performance monster. So it shouldnt appeal to everyone, BUT if its taking over for the grand prix, Will this be marketed as a family sedan? I don't think i'll get my jolly's off racing mother on the highway while she's on her way to soccer practice :damnyou: Hope that makes sense.

No, this car will not be overplayed like the Grand Prix, with the G8s production numbers to be around 30,000. I really dont' think it's going to me marketed as a "High Performance Monster". With both V6 "G8 Sedan" and V8 "G8 GT" versions I think it will be marketed as an affordable/sporty rwd family sedan.

It's positioned a lot like a value BMW. Good performance sedan, or a great one. Pay your money and take your choice. The GXP will be a jr. M car for pontiac.

Or another way to look at this line is a value CTS series for Pontiac. CTS came out with the small and medium performance versions, with the V showing up at this year's autoshow. G8 will have the small and medium performance versions, with the GXP soon to follow.

Since this is going to be a relatively low volume vehicle, I don't see Pontiac ponying up big bucks to advertise it. Especially when you consider the capacity restraints they have at the plant. Can't wait to see what they come up with in a GXP version :) By all accounts of the options available to build that car, it should be a screamer.

The G8 will most definitely be a rental car. That kills resale and makes them a dime a dozen... The GT however I believe will not be a rental option.

This is all speculation on my part.

Thanks for the video. I hadn't watched that one.
