: So should I Zaino my car?
nixapatfan 02-05-2007, 08:52 AM So should I Zaino my car in the showroom before I pull it out and risk contamination of the soft paint from the harsh elements?
Well on my way to post whoredom. :D
BTW where is the wheels and tires section? I need to start looking for rims for my new baby.
06LS2 02-05-2007, 10:18 AM I'll Zaino my new camaro when i get that. Thinking of buying a 2003 M5 though.
Holeshot 02-05-2007, 10:26 AM Well I would not let the dealer prep the car thats for sure. Remember all the nightmare post on Ls1gto.com? I would ask them not to wash it or towel it off.
I don't see tire pressure problems or shipping problem we had with our GTO with this model. Make sure the license plate frame is not installed. I will say this. I pray that the paint quality on the G8 will be better then the paint on the GTO.
Wash, Clay and polish/ buff.

Yeah, kind of hard to do sometimes in IL. :soapbox:

Yeah same here in MA, all the dealers just pop that sucker on before the car rolls off the truck.
Jeff R 02-05-2007, 02:40 PM :wall: Is Zaino a sponsor here?
littlemissGTO 02-05-2007, 03:10 PM Zaino should always be applied to a hawt car. Doesn't matter if it's the GTO or the G8. They both need some loving.
spykesta 02-05-2007, 06:30 PM You should zaino it, then you should wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap and put it away for 25 years...
PMD G8 02-05-2007, 08:37 PM If I end up getting a G8 and even if the paint quality is good I would still consider getting a clear bra installed on the car.

Don't forget to take it off often, especially when washing or you'll fade the paint under the bra. And never put it back on a wet car.
speeddemon 02-05-2007, 09:41 PM sure as hell use zaino, not a fan of the other brand :wall:

Not a regular bra, but a CLEAR bra. ;) http://www.xpel.com/products/paint.asp

+1, cheap insurance for the paint.

:slap: What kind of a question is that?

Right here. http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34
LS1=SEG 02-06-2007, 12:30 PM How long is the paint still soft after it leaves the factory? It could take it long enough to get to America that the paint will have hardened.

IIRC the rule of thumb for new paint is 60 days or was it 90. It's something like that.
Drachen 02-07-2007, 08:52 AM My dealer down here in Florida put the damn front license plate frame on even though Florida has no front plates! They just wanted to put their stupid dealer advertisement crap on the front of the car... I hate that.

Well, in that case by the time they hit the dealers, the paint should be pretty much cured.
nixapatfan 02-07-2007, 11:28 AM Right here. http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34
It wasn't there when I posted that. :shiner:
phutty2000 02-07-2007, 11:52 AM It comes from the factory Zainoed already. Jeez.
sharkbite1979 02-23-2007, 09:34 PM I'd love to see the look on the sales person's face when you ask them if you can throw a couple coats of Zaino on it before you drive it out of the showroom.
