: What would you mod on a GXP?

I was thinking about this earlier.....What engine mods would you do on the GXP? if it does happen to get the LS3, I don't think I'll even be touching it, If i get the GT(due to the GXP not coming out quick enough) Then i can see myself doing a tune/supercharger/cat back etc etc.... But come on, Ls3 power.....No need to touch in my opinion. That'd be more than enough oomf!

LOL probably a maggie, like the CTS-V guys do. And the widest, stickiest tires I can find.

Maybe a cold air intake, a Vector tune, Kooks headers w/ high flow cats, and a Corsa exhaust. I will not touch the engine.

i would probably find a way to defeat the dod for cruise nights. delete any tm, maybe a n20 kit.

Probably intake, tune...nothing to give the dealer any excuse to not cover anything under warranty. Be nice to drive something fairly quick and not have to worry about paying for stuff that breaks....

Considering that we don't even know whats going into a GXP yet, I have no clue.

All that and a maggie eventually.

as evident by what it does on the corvette, a decent cam, headers, intake, and tune will get you around the 500rwhp mark. Not too shabby

You've never really driven a modded high performance car have you?

Almost Certainly:
-Borla Exhaust
-Cold Air Intake (?)
-Better Tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3)
-Royal Purple High Performance Oil
-Hi Flow oil filter

Depending on Stock Performance:
-GMPP Hot Cam
-Sparco Front Seats
-Stereo (all or maybe just improvements)
-Short Throw Shifter

Depending on what's left of the Budget:
-Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2 Wheels in black (with black car)
-Better Brake Pads

But a LOT depends on what the stock car performs like... it might not need ANYTHING... we'll just have to see.

Well if we're talking non performance mods as well:

Certainly:

Rims (no not big ass obnoxious chrome)
tint
gps/dvd deck

Depending:

hood
subs/amp
plug wires
polished engine bay stuff

Looking at what just the base GT did against a SRT8 Charger, it looks like the GXP will walk the dog out of it no matter what the GXP comes with. I know my first mod would be a new intake system on it as I bet you can at least get 15rwhp more than that two step factory system

Only thing I would mod would be my driving skills along with a better brake pad followed by some tires.

I wanna learn to drive it before I break it.

Intake and exhaust. Maybe a reprogram. I think the car will be fine enough with that. I'd just be wanting to let it breathe more.

Maybe brake pads, but after having Hawk HP+ as a daily driver pad (awesome, btw), I think I'm okay with stock pads.

Lets see...base on cost but not necessarily in order

Window tint

20" rims either HSV, CCW, HRE, ROH ?

Then when parts are available...

Cold air intake

Catback

Longtube headers

Cam

Tuning

Pedders track 2 suspension upgrade

...and one heavy right foot!

Cold Air intake, Exhaust, & a tune. That's it for me. Of course, i wil be doing the usual aftermarket shifter & knob, Hawk Brake Pads, tint, etc.

I'd probably due a full exhaust and all the bolt ons for a while. Like to but a roots blower and a blower cam in there for a little extra kick. I was looking at the first Gen cts-v as well for my next car. Was impressed to see with with full bolt ons, a magnacharger making 7#'s, and a blower cam made just a few shy of 500 to the wheels on a my friends loaded roller dyno that hurts ALOT of peoples feelings. Not to mention that 90% of the pervious owners were all adults since the price was out of the range of most younger fokes.

One of those tree air freshners and tint is all mine will get. Actually scrap the air freshner. I will be buying the GXP over the GT for the brakes and suspension the increase in HP is a nice bonus.

I would do the same mods i did on my 06 C6 , headers, cam, CAI and a dyno tune.
