so i have to get the car fixed and it only has 6k on the odo!!

i took it to new mexico for work last week. and on the way there, the cruise control would just shut off all by it's self! also, the esp (traction control) would shut off for no reason also?! i also had the info center flash "contact dealer" ??

i also had a small shakin in the wheel with a slight pull.

the rest was:
a couple of spots on the rocker panels and trunk area where the paint was dull, like it was never buffed?

a fluttering sound from the center vents at low blower speed?

a high pitched whistle from the dash area (like a radio whine or alt whine) even with radio and air shut off? at any speed.

a very rough idle! almost like a dead miss at times?

so i leave the car at the dealer for a week. they call and say it's all fixed!

the replaced both front tires and did a alignment, they had a recall for a computer reprogram. (motor and trans). they found my brake switch out of adjustment (causing the esp and cruise problem)

they said the buffed the rockers and trunk and it was good!

they couldn't find the flutter in the duct or the whistle from the dash??

picked the car up today! still have a spot on the trunk where the paint is dull and now the whole car has swirls! it also still has a rough idle?

the rest of the stuff is ok as of now, i will test it since i have to drive back to nm on monday.

except for 12 dollar oil changes. just bring your own oil. how bad can they mess up on an oil change and a car wash to boot.:wink2:

Dealer put swirls in my paint when they washed my car. I avoid dealer car washes at all cost.

i thought it was a alt whine, yet i can't hear it outside under the hood? just inside coming from the dash area.

the idle was a lot like the gto, but a "lot" rougher! we will see if the reprogram fixed it after this trip?

i thought the same thing about the rockers when i saw it (have three kids) but when i saw the spot on the trunk, i knew it was a factory mess up.

everything off! heard it again this week.

well, got got back for nm. car ran fine up and back as far as the esp and cruise.

the front end still pulls and the steering wheel shakes even worse then before! either the "new" front tires are bad? or the rim is bent? makes for a very crappy 400 mile drive!

it still has the crap idle even after the re-program also.

so back to dealer tom and get it fixed. :whine:

Rough idle is normal due to th elope in the Cam.

Remember it is a Corvette motor.

got the car back yestreday. they had to re-align the front end again! and rebalance the tires.

the rough idle is still there, they called gm and told me they had no fix for it! :(

i'm used to rough idles on my old school street cars, but i didn't pay 30k for them! i didn't think i was buying 68 chevelle again.

The rough idle is normal and is caused by the AFM (DOD) lifters at low RPMs. If you live in a warmer climate you could use 10w30 instead of the 5w30 oil. Some say this smooths it out.

I was at my dealership last week for these problems. I'm getting a new alternator for the whine threw the front speaker, and the bumped up my idle which made her run smooth at stops. Also getting weights applied for the tranny whine.

Just waiting for the call......

back again!! this is the fourth time back to the dealer! :(

still have a real bad idle, also now have a vibration through the car at any speed, but only when accelerating. and it still has a pull and steering wheel vibration!

the dealer tells me they know about it, yet gm doesn't have any fixes!
