Don't bet on it. Since WP is considered an "aftermarket" tuner, they have different ideas as to what gets warrantied (if anything). But, I bet it's a hell of a ride.

Absolutely! 10year, 150,000mi lifetime warranty for USA owners. As long as you drive it to the Walkinshaw shop for warranty work.:boink:

In that case, how much is the amphibicar option gonna cost? :gr_jest:

Walkinshaw is a Holden approved tuner - he actually owned HSV and HRT at one point. I believe they are fully covered.

I think under the Holden/HSV Agreement, I think HSV is deemed a "manufacturer" in their own right.

Mind you under ADR rules, the HSV cars leave Holden's production line as an ADR compliant car in every technical sense of the word but there are various items removed and replaced at HSV that then makes the final product 'manufactured" by HSV.

Interesting. Didn't know that. We need a HSV clone over here.

Actually, we are working on that mod right now! Need to get a few minor bugs worked out tho'. So far we haven't been able to get the bolt-on keel kit under 6000 lbs.:secret:

Anyone remember SLP? They did mods on GM's Camaro and Firebird for years here in USA. All their work was considered warranted by GM as original equipment and was documented by SLP as such.

But, did SLP warranty those cars for the same 36 month/36K miles or did they let (parent company) GM handle warranty claims?

GM handled all the warranty claims for 3 years or 36k miles.

But, from the way the Aussie member are telling about HSV, they would have their own warranty structure.

SLP is still around doing after market stuff, lots of stuff, so maybe GM will hookup with them again to provide the USA finish for GXP and above variations?

I don't doubt that SLP will still be offering accessories for the G8. But, I'm not expecting a limited run of cars from them that carries any limited edition build plaque or exclusivity.

True enough for the first few MYs, but if currency rates change, or the car takes off in popularity, GM could decide to build them in the US or Canada. At that point they may decide, much as they did with the Camaro and Firebird, that an authorized outside source could do the mods job for smaller production models better, freeing them up for the more popular lessor content versions straight from the factory. If the market for this niche version of the vehicle is worthwhile for GM to produce, there will be a source for the mods!

SLP won't be doing any complete cars. It was SLP Engineering that did the Firehawk and SS Camaro, that part of SLP is out of business now. What is left is SLP Performance Parts which is a separate business.
