I've seen several articles that show that the 3.6l V6 that we have is used in several other GM cars and trucks.

If this really is the case, then why is it so hard for someone to come up with a ECM tune for us to get more power?

There is a truck that uses this motor and they are showing 275 hp out of it. So why can't we returne this one for that power level or more? Even the CTS caddy has more HP that we do. Could it be as simple as reprograming the ECM with a program from one of those vechiles? Or is it more involved than that?

I can understand that it's a harder thing to do than the V8 tune because of the variable valve timming and variable plenimum volume that this motor has, but I would think that something can be done. Or are we just the lonly V6 that no one wants to work on?

Don't get me wrong, I love the V6 in my car. But I think there are a whole lot of oppertunities to greatly increase that output with something a ssimple as a ECM tune, exhaust and intake. Being able to vary the valve timing and intake plenumim should make for a interesting ability to gain so much more. I bet 300 hp could easily be done with the right tune, exhaust and CAI.

Because the G8 uses a newish E77 controller that no one supports, I'm working on the E69 right now and its a royal PITA.
