How wide of a tire could go on the rear of the GXP with the OE wheels?
It would look good with wider than 245 but I do not want to upgrade ther wheels.
Would a 265 fit possibly?

I believe they are 8 inches wide.

I wouldn't put more than 255/40/19 on them, but it isn't worth spending the money until you need a new set.

Ah, too bad. Yeah, that isn't worth the money.
I noticed today that the Super Bee SRT8 and Challenger SRT8 both have the same set up- 245's all the way around. :(

And, the proper way to go with wider tires is to go with wider rims. If you go with a tire too wide for a rim, the installers can scratch the rim more easily. Just because a shop has a "scratch-proof" machine, it doesn't mean that the operators are working the machine correctly. Plus, the mismatched widths will lead to unusual tire wear issues.

Could it be that there is some collusion between the auto makers and the tire companies? Naaaaah, that couldn't possibly happen. We'd all know if they were bumping up the tire sizes on all new cars to make us buy more tire for more money come replacement time.:wink2:

lol.
The 245's squeak by on the G8.
But on a Super Bee, they plain looked skinny!
But, have any of you seen the black 20" aluminum wheels on the Super Bee? Now they are sweet!

Nope. Got any pics? :D I agree that 245s just aren't enough. I mean, WS6 Firebirds had 275s. The new Camaro will have a 275 tire for the SS models.

Its hard to see, but the wheels have a brushed aluminum face with black on the insides. They look really good! Much better than chrome, imo.
