That was one of the best features of the Grand Prix. I hope they offer it.

I guess it depends on if the VE Commodore has it as an option or not.

oh yeah that would be one thing I would like to have as far as extra stuff goes.

I love it on my GTP, but it seems as though GM doesn't offer it on as many vehicles as it used to and I doubt Holden has it as an option on the Commodore. So I think we're SOL on it.

That was kind of a Hughes Electronics thing, I believe and since GM dumped HE to Newscorp (Rupert Murdock) just a few years ago, all that fighter pilot stuff is gone. It was cool!!

C6 Vettes have a HUD as an option, yeah.

You never know, GM may offer it on V8 models and maybe on V6's, but we'll have to see when we find out more info.

Thanks for correcting me. I was just at a Corvette shop and saw many C5 and C6 with HUD.

They did! But that has little to no bearing on business agreements as a supplier.

I definitely would like to see the HUD. On the Vettes and GP GXP, the NAV is integrated with the HUD. It is really handy when you are facing multiple exits in a strange city.

Ehh, not a huge loss IMO. I was never big on HUD's.

The HUD is very nice for night driving..... love it on the GTP.

Well, maybe the G8 info center will display digital MPH and the odometer reading at the same time. (What a concept!) :mullet:

I had it on my 03 Z06, it was a novelty at first, but after looking at the speedo/odo for so many years, I found the Hud annoying. I don't really see the benefit to it, yes it keeps your eyes on the road, and not on the guages, but just another gadget for me,,, Very cool for Top End runz.

Holden was not planning for HUD originally in the program (they've never had it). When the US asked for it we were met with long faces (don't look for it anytime soon).

I would settle a simple digital speed readout in combination with the analog, centered in teh dash, somewhere between the speedo and tach, like my 6000STE had 20 years ago. Push-button to change instantly from mph to kph.

Reading one of the Holden brochures, I believe it is a trip computer but also displays Nav info on Nav-equipped cars. I would assume the G8 would do the same.

Not sure but I am pretty sure GM uses special windshields with their HUD cars.

ya i believe its a special coating they put on. itd probly be possible to do that as an after thought as well

Holden does have a trip computer with the speed reading out in digits, but a HUD after-the-fact? No, as it is a system and a very critical one for positioning.
