I know enough about Holden's history, but I confess to not having the same knowledge about Pontiac. Any diehards who have lived through or gained info on Pontiacs history...please post up. Yes, I can do a search.......but I prefer to hear from those who have lived a slice of it. Personal pics of said Pontiacs would be a bonus along with your personal Pontiac experiences. I am sure the other aussies on this site can add to this thread with lots of the same concerning Holdens. I am going to start.
This year (November 29th) marks Holdens 60th anniversary as an oz car manufacturer. The first Holden..model code 48/215 rolled off the line in 1948. Coincidentally, we have one sitting in the corner at work and the other day i decided to give it my appraisal.
This car is in excellent shape and is only bought out on special occasions. Cross ply tyres...4 wheel drum brakes...split windshield,
I could go on. It really was a time warp sitting in this car.. speedo, fuel and temp gauge....no turn inicators and an under dash park brake. 3 on the tree manual and no seat adjustment that I could find. Lots of room though , seating 6, and the headroom was remarkable, even for todays standards. I will take pics this week and post them up in this thread. For the time being, this is a link to the first holden..
