The G8 was white with dark gray interior and red seat inserts. It looked good to me.

Four years ago, at the auto expo, was the first time a saw the new generation GTO. Two weeks later I had one in hand. Something tells me that won't be possible with the G8.

You are correct. My dealer says that he has one on its' way but, it won't be here for awhile yet. He neglected to contact me when it was time to order, just ordered a generic GT to put on the lot.
