Typical for this "wannabe" city. No new 2009 RAM or CTS-V and only 1 G8. It's on a turntable so no touch.

Beautiful car though, almost exactly like the one my dealer is supposed to tag for me if he can. It's a black GT w/19's w/o sunroof. I must have stood and looked at it for 40 minutes. I want w/sunroof (per wife) and 18's, but the 19's looked sharp.

Seeing only makes me want one more. First time in 30 years I've been excited an America (sponsored anyway) car. Than God for RAMs.

Wifes 2005 Sebring convertable will be leaving. Terrible car, but it's what she wanted. Convinced her see would look better in this.:boink:

So gay that we can't sit in it! WTF, I'm seriously pissed. It's not like it's a ZR1

St Louis can't be that "wannabe" cause the only G8 at the DC Auto Show was on a turntable, too.

"wannabe" city?? We may not be as large as Chicago, NYC or LAX but we are big enogh to at least have a "G8" on the stage.
Like everyone else: I would really like to see more but I'm not bashing the city because GM only sent 1 "G8" for use to drool over.

Did they add a second one since opening day? Color/style?

They might have added one... I know they said the Camaro wasn't going to be there until today.

Just got back from the St Louis Auto Show.
They had one Black GT on a turn table. The car looks really great.
No brochures but they did have someone that would take your name and address to mail one out to you next week.
If you live in St Louis you got to take a spin by and look at this in person.

Told you it was a "wannabe" show (like St Louis is a "wannabe" town). Yes she was good looking, just came in from Salt Lake auto show to STL. She was programmed like a robot.

You're right though, car was beautiful. Worth the price of admission to see one for real.

Show was entertaining and the G8 is awesome in black. The Ford guys were looking at the Camaro exhibit with long faces. That was by far the most crowded spot in the whole center. The G8 exhibit drew a decent crowd too. GM does an excellent job training the presenters. I'd rather they be trained to act like product robots than be completely ignorant.

Listening to fellow onlookers, there were snarky comments about the last GTO but this car was positively received. I think it will sell very well in the flyover states. The negative comments were that the interior looks very spartan and too much black material. Maybe it needs something like colored insets on the interior of the doors to offset. I thought the seats were disappointing compared to the GTO.

Elsewhere, the Mercedes C Class was very impressive starting at about... 36g? But it's one of those "spend most of your time driving a loaner" cars. I wasn't at all impressed with the 1-series BMW. For whatever reason, when I first saw it, I got a mental picture of that giant c0ckroach alien in the first "Men in Black" movie.

For the money, I thought the G8 was one the best values at the show.

Agree about the training, but she didn't tell you anything you couldn't find in a brochure. Would pop the trunk (at least Wednesday afternooon), but not the hood. She said it would "draw" to much of a crowd. Give me a break, be honest.

You couldn't set in the car, so what are you comparing the seats to? It had the red inserts. Other looks? Never saw a GTO but once (one look and I was done, very dissapointing). Had high hopes for the GTO. G8 appears to be on the mark.

And the G8 is value.
