: Spoke with the local dealer today!!!
k20maniac 12-01-2008, 04:34 PM I live in south florida and i got ahold of the local pontiac today to see if there were any news on the g8 gxp...
They told me that the dealers had already been allocated the vehicles and that each dealer would receive up to 1 gxp..
He also informed me that they should be receiving them february/march. He was even able to tell me what color they were getting theirs.
Hope that helps some of you on basing your decision.

N2G8GXP 12-01-2008, 06:23 PM I spoke with a sales manager of a very large dealership they have multiple GM sites and he called Pontiac today. Their contact in Pontiac told him he had nothing new to add just to expect the GXP's to be released for sale probably in January.
99-LS1-SS 12-01-2008, 07:09 PM January is what I've heard too.
BBBBGXP 12-01-2008, 09:18 PM ... each dealer would receive up to 1 gxp...
I sorry, is there some way to receive up to less than one?:slap:
k20maniac 12-02-2008, 01:25 AM yes it called 0... wow.. there are some idiots on this site i tell you...
jwilson54 12-02-2008, 02:41 PM My dealer said Spring. JW
sharkie 12-02-2008, 06:46 PM My dealer in Dallas has 15 allocations.
(That's 14 to you after I get mine:driving:).
As you have heard, this is a bit like the NFL draft. Dealerships petition for their allocations from a pool of cars, meaning that you cannot actually 'order' one. The dealer just picks from those already produced (or in production). It's not really a big deal since the option list is so small. My dealer is now telling me that they expect petitions to be accepted starting in January, so delivery to dealers in February is probably about right.
kevinm0131 12-02-2008, 06:58 PM I got my call today from my salesman. pretty good size midwest dealer and he said that they had been offered the opportunity to get two additional GXP allocations and tag them early if they ordered/tagged 11 other G8's. He said they agreed and would be tagging mine first thing tommorow. We'll see! I hope he's right. Still no "official" pricing but he did say they were pretty confident that they would be in the 40K neighborhood and he's checking on GMS availability.

TraumaOne 12-02-2008, 06:59 PM So, my dealer called today and said they had talked to their GM rep. The GXP's are on indefinate hold. They have to move the GT's that are sitting around before they will bring the GXPs. I also got the impression, they might not even bring them.

Which dealer are you dealing with? I will be pissed if they put them on hold for too long. DAMMIT!!!
99-LS1-SS 12-02-2008, 07:25 PM You guys are freaking me the hell out with all of this talk about the GXP being on hold.
I just called my dealer and he said that as far as he knew the GXP was still on target for January. I get the feeling that he knows more than he's letting on but he won't budge. I have to take him at his word. Until HE tells me different I'm going to treat these posts as wild rumors.
I'm in a situation to where in a couple of weeks I'm going to be down to 1 vehicle until I get the GXP.
okiepokie 12-02-2008, 07:30 PM I think Trauma's dealer has to get rid of some GT's before the dealership will be permitted to tag a GXP. That would make more sense.

Possibly true. The dealer I'm dealing with is the largest Pontiac dealer in NC so I have to hope that they are still on target.

They only have two... and they were not planning to get a GXP at all. From what they said, no dealer will get any... Take it for what it's worth...
nosbusa1500 12-02-2008, 10:17 PM Where I live three Pontiac dealerships have anywhere from 10-25 G8 GT's on their lot. So, If that's the case that the GXP's won't come in until the G8's sell, then the GXP's will be on hold forever.
TraumaOne 12-03-2008, 08:33 AM I must say, the dealer was very willing to deal and negotiate. They would find me the color I wanted even if they didn't have it... GM card isn't budging on their 1000 dollar limit either...
ksiu71 12-03-2008, 08:58 AM I know people want to be optimistic but just sit back and think about where GM is at right now.
Simple test would be to drive by your local pontiac dealer and see how many g8's are sitting out there. I've gone by one dealership here in Tampa and I counted over 10 in the front lot (no idea how many are in the back lot) more than half of which were GT's. If this is an indication of nationwide it's a good bet that the GXP date will be continually pushed back until inventory is down.
Chooch 12-03-2008, 09:15 AM In my area, the dealer I bought from had this year 9 G8GT's and all sold but a PSM 2009, which they are selling for 29169, fully loaded ie Sunroof, Premium, and Sport package. I would think 8 of 9 would allow them to tag a GXP, but who knows. Besides, they have already built the cars, I doubt they will let them sit, they have to move them at this point.
nathan60 12-03-2008, 09:30 AM im not worried,i can wait.some getting one will get just to sell to make profits.
